Bird Banter - What Will You Stamp

Oh sunset! I created this bright big sun with a little yellow Brusho Color Crystals. Simple paint a water circle and sprinkle a little Brusho (spread with your aqua painter if you need the color to flow more). The large sun created a wonderful background for the Toucan from the Bird Banter stamp set.

Hello and happy Friday! This weeks TGIF Challenge is card in a box. Can you believe in all my years of crafting that I never made a card in a box? It took an awesome challenge for me to take on this project and it was super fun and not hard at all, just a little time consuming. You ready to give it a try? My friend and fellow design team member Carolynn Sander created a fabulous tutorial for you to follow. Box cards fold flat to fit into an envelope and then pop open to be an interactive 3D card. I made this card for my dad's birthday and he was impressed. The guts of my card in a box feature the Bird Banter stamp set and the Happy Birthday Thinlet. Additional supplies are listed out below. Artisan Design Tip - Image Swap using Silicon Craft Sheet

Don't you just love it when you find a great new use for an everyday tool?  I was working with the Bird Banter stamp set and really wanted to have two toucans facing each other. I've seen many mirror technique tutorials but didn't have the tools required to easily create a mirror image. I started to look around my craft room and thought, I wonder if the Silicon craft sheet would work to transfer an image? It did!

Check out my quick 30 second video at the end of this post to see this mirror technique in action.

Create a mirror image of any stamp image using the Silicon Craft sheet! Simply stamp your image directly onto the mat and then press your cardstock firmly to the sheet to transfer the image onto the card stock. Voila, a mirror image! For best results be careful to stamp clearly and do not move or wiggle the paper when transferring the image. 

It took me a few tries to get an image I liked. I have such shaky hands sometimes. This technique will work like a dream with the new Stamparatus stamp alignment tool. Until then I'll have to keep my shaky hands in check.
