Monday Montage 143 - Floral Essence Birthday card fro Grandma

The Montage Montage crew is back today to share what we are working on.

Tomorrow my Grandma turns 89. This week I set out to make her a custom birthday card. Her favorite color is purple, it has been for as long as I can remember. I would love to visit her home as a child. She had a purple living room with white carpet and a purple couch that I just loved. Her piano room had purple shag carpet (gotta love the 70’s).

When I looked through my supplies I felt the Floral Essence stamp set and papers would make a beautiful card for her. I also used the Making a Difference stamp set for the numbers 89 and the xx for the HAPPY die. A full list of supplies can be found below. I hope she loves it.

This card has lots of dimension so I will need to hand deliver. Lucky for me I head to Utah soon and can gift it then. I’ll have to text her a photo tomorrow so she can see it on her big day.

I created an interactive birthday card using a new stamp set and punch from the Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Occasions catalog called ‘Piece of Cake’. A full list of supplies can be found below. What makes the card interactive? It has a window on the front that opens to a little rosette badge adhered to the inside. Kind of fun and different.

Hello and happy Friday! This weeks TGIF Challenge is card in a box. Can you believe in all my years of crafting that I never made a card in a box? It took an awesome challenge for me to take on this project and it was super fun and not hard at all, just a little time consuming. You ready to give it a try? My friend and fellow design team member Carolynn Sander created a fabulous tutorial for you to follow. You can find it on her blog or watch it on her You Tube channel here. 

Box cards fold flat to fit into an envelope and then pop open to be an interactive 3D card. I made this card for my dad's birthday and he was impressed. The guts of my card in a box feature the Bird Banter stamp set and the Happy Birthday Thinlet. Additional supplies are listed out below. Birthday Wit - Color Challenge - TGIFC141

Happy New Year folks! It's almost the end of the first week of 2018. How's it going for you? Gotten anything done? It's been a busy week around here—snow storms, snow days and deadlines. Not much time for crafting for me but last night I did find time to cram in a last minute card for this weeks TGIF Color Challenge.  Wanna play along? Color challenges are always so much fun. Make a project with the three colors below and post it over on the TGIF Challenge Blog. And now get ready to be inspired, check out the TGIF Challenge Blog ... the design team has started the year full of home run projects!!!

This card features a new stamp set from the Occasions mini catalog called Birthday Wit. This set is so funny and perfect for any type of birthday card. It's a must have! Check out all of these witty sayings. I can't decide which phrase is my favorite.

What do you think of my little bow-tie creation? It was so easy. I used the new Tailored Tag punch, also from the Occasions catalog. 

Four easy steps:

1. Punch the shape from your favorite paper. 
2. Cut the shape in half.  Swap sides so smaller sides are touching to create the bow-tie shape.
3. Wrap the middle with a piece of the same paper (.5 x 1"). 
4. Adhere together. So simple.
