Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - My Wonderful Family Alternative

Hello and welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Thing monthly blog hop. This hop is all creating and sharing alternate products for the current Paper Pumpkin kit. This month’s Paper Pumpkin kit is called ‘Wonderful Family’.

I’ve made two alternate cards using the supplies from the kit (Father’s Day card and a birthday card). I have added additional ink, cardstock, and the ‘Well Written’ dies to create these new card ideas.

Card 1 - Fun tip: The Father’s Day card uses the negative shape of the leaves to create a stencil. I sponged ink to create a subtle shadow for the die cut leaves.

Card 2 - Fun Tip: Stamp the tree leaves twice (once on top and then flip and stamp for the bottom) to create a full oval blossom. This Petal Pink Blossom reminds me a little bit of a Hydrangea, a nice flower to have a few butterflies around.

Thanks so much for visiting and thanks in advance for your lovely comments! Ready to see more alternate ideas for this Paper Pumpkin kit? The full link up can be found below - Click on the link after my name (Charlet Mallett).

Global Design Project - GDP238 - Sketch Challenge: A Wish for Everything

A Wish for Everything and Timeless Tropical : Purple Mother’s Day Card, Charlet Mallett - Stampin’ Up!

Painted in Purple! I took this sketch from this weeks Global Design Project challenge and painted a purple gradient striped background using Highland Heather. Each stripe a little lighter than the last. It’s not perfect but I like the effect.

The sentiment stamp set and dies are from the A Wish for Everything bundle. The flower and leaf stamp are from the Timeless Tropical stamp set.

Mother’s Day is only 2 weeks away (in the U.S.), I’m getting ready to pop a few cards in the mail.

Monday Montage 163 - Ornate Style Birthday Card

Hello friends! The Montage Montage crew is back today to share what we are working on.

I’m making birthday cards this week. This card uses the Well Written dies and the Ornate Style stamp set.

I am trying to get better at mailing cards ahead of birthdays. For this I need a plan (AND CARDS). I’m thinking a monthly sit down to write and address cards might be the ticket. Do you have a system? I’d love to hear what works for you.

The Monday Montage crew is a talented bunch. A quick refresher: the Montage gals host a blog hop every other Monday showing you fun and exciting Stampin’ Up! products. Ready for more Stampin’ Up! inspiration? Be sure to loop through the entire hop and see all of the amazing artwork created just to inspire! Next up is Cheryl.

TGIF Challenges: TGIFC261 - Product Inspiration Challenge Die Cut words

TGIF Challenge has a great product showcase challenge this week … die cut words.

I love word and letter die cuts. They are such a great way to add a large and unique sentiment to a card. The Welcome Baby sentiment on this card comes from the Well Written dies. The flowers are stamped from the Ornate Style stamp set. I’ve chopped up the larger flower image to create this smaller version. The flowers have been heat embossing using gold emboss powder and colored using Stampin’ Blends.

Coranatimes … It’s a tough time to have a baby. We have many friends and family who are expecting right now. I can only imagine the added stress of delivering in this environment. The joy of new life is so wonderful and full of such promise. Hopefully this card brings a little bright spot to the parents as well.

1. Play along with us! So easy to participate. Check out the TGIFChallenges blog for more details and inspiration. Tag your projects #tgifc261 so the TGIF Challenges design team are sure to see them.
