Making Everyday Bright- Global Design Project - Color Challenge #GDP153

August 27, 2018
GDP153 color.jpg

Check out this color combo! I find it super fresh and fun (Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, Soft Suede). This color combo happens to be this week's the Global Design Project challenge, are you ready to try it out?

I opted to use a new stamp set called Making Everyday Bright from the upcoming Holiday Mini catalog. This set, and all other Holiday goodies, are available to purchase beginning September 5th.

Making Everyday Bright is a photopolymer stamp set. It has so many images that will work for any occasion. AND this set coordinates with the Christmas Bulb Builder punch. I used the feather image from the set and colored with Stampin' Blends. Each of these colors in this challenge combo has a Blend! Additional supplies are listed out for you below.

Are you ready to see more inspiration in these colors? The GDP design team WOWs again. I love everything they made. Check it out. #gdp153

Springtime Impressions - Create Simple Plant markers

August 25, 2018
Springtime Impressions PTF (11 of 11).jpg

I love to personalize gifts, even something as simple as a little potted plant.  I added a butterfly plant marker to these succulents using the Butterfly die from the Springtime Impressions thinlet dies. This is a simple way to dress up a plant and say THANK YOU! Use up those supplies and share. These plants were appreciation gifts for our outgoing elementary school PTF members.

Stitched All Around - Global Design Project - CASE the Designer Challenge

August 20, 2018
GDP152.jpg

It's my favorite way to start the week. Its time for another Global Design Project challenge. This week we are casing Janneke De Jong. She is so talented. You can see more of her work on her website here.

I was really inspired by Janneke to use purple for my CASE card. I also used the same Stitched All Around bundle but switched up the greeting and the medallion label a bit. The little flowers come from the Pop of Petals stamp set. These have been hand cut.

Check out more inspiration on the Global Design Project blog and PLAY along with the design team. We'd love to see how Janneke's card inspires you!

Varied Vases - Stamp Review Crew

August 19, 2018
Stamp Review Crew blog banner(2).png

Yikes! I spent the day at the beach and completely neglected posting this on time. If you are visiting again, thanks for your patience!

Let's talk Varied Vases. This edition of the Stamp Review the crew will show many inspiring ideas using this fun builder stamp set. I love this set. It's super cute and very versatile.  The set includes 34 images and coordinated with the Vase builder punch.

This stamp set & punch design was directed by Mary Fish as part of her million dollar sales achievement. Read more about this on Mary's blog.

I have a few additional projects to share I created previously at the end of this post.

Let's talk about this card a little. I opted to created a card using green, purple and black ... what?! I don't think I've ever used these colors together, seriously. In hindsight I am questioning myself. What was I thinking? It would make a great Halloween color combo, that is for certain. Ha!

The background watercolor was created so easily. Did you happen to notice the shape is the exact same size as Stampin' Up's ink pad? To get a similar look all you need to do is wet watercolor paper and then directly stamp the pad (yes the pad) onto the wet paper. Blend and smooth out the ink as desired. So easy, right?

The greeting is stamped in Memento ink directly onto the watercolor background (after the background has dried). I used my Stamparatus for exact placement and inked up the verse a few times to stamp it good and dark.

Next up is: Tanya. You can catch the full Varied Vases blog roll below and thanks again for joining us on this edition of Stamp Review Crew.

Water & ink. I used water and classic ink to create this soft pastel card. Paper: watercolor paper. I used a variety of flower punches from my collection to create the multi-layered flowers. This card has so much dimension and is meant for hand delivery! 🤣 Use your stash! #stampinup #useyourstash #cardmaker #cardmakingreel

When I think of pastel I think watercolor. For this month our 'Use Your Stash' theme is PRETTY PASTEL. I pulled out the 'Good Greetings' stamp set and heat set the large greeting with white emboss powder. This greeting is so pretty. Then, I water painted a peachy color over the top for a soft & airy look. For the flowers I painted a few pink and peach multi-color washes and then punch out using various flower punches. The flower centers are irridescent rhinestones. Stampin' Up! products you can still purchase: Basic White cardstock, Fluid 100 watercolor Ink colors: Peach Pie, Pretty in Pink and Cloud Cover I can't wait to see what my friends pulled out from their stashes for this challenge. Cute little chicks lined up in a row … I was eyeballing it to try my hand at stamp alignment with this new Stampin’ Positioner tool. My free form is not perfect, but it doesn’t matter in the end when you mount your card crooked. 🐥🐥🐥🐥🐥 🤣 Stamp set is called Easter Basket and it’s on the last chance list.
