Beautiful Promenade - Scrapbook Sunday Blog Hop - August

August 19, 2018

Hello again! Welcome back to another Scrapbook Sunday blog hop. This event features a team of Stampin' Up! scrapbookers that blog hop the 3rd Sunday of every month and share exclusively scrapbooking ideas using Stampin' Up! products.

Sunday Scrapbook (2 of 2).jpg

It's all about the numbers this month. While my 6x8 page is not chalk full of numbers the ones that are there are important. Last month I made page for my Grandmother's book documenting her birthday except that page had no numbers, no dates, nothing. Oops. Just a pretty page. So this month I'm making up for it. This page includes the year (2018) and her age (88), as well as the month and day.

While she has some balance and memory issues she is still trucking and is STRONG! This page actually documents her 88th birthday right before she blew out her cake candles. She is wearing her favorite color, purple. And, it's dated. That is important. I'll get the hang of this scrapbooking thing eventually (you may even get to see some journaling).

Let's talk products: Overall I like how this page turned out. I used the purple marble and purple flower papers from the Petal Promenade Designer Series Papers. These papers are photo realistic and really elegant. The stamp set is called Beautiful Promenade. I stamped the small flower images in Versamark and heat set with gold embossing powder. The stamped flowers are colored with Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Blends for a hint of color.  Do you like that repeating diamond pattern in the background? I DO!  That border was easily created using my Stamparatus and the hinge step. Oh, and those NUMBERS, the stamped numbers come from the Make a Difference stamp set. Full supplies are listed below.

1, 2, 3 - ready to see more NUMBERS scrapbook inspiration? Let's go! Full link up can be found below. Click on the link after my name or the next button. Thanks so much for visiting. Charlet

TGIFC173 - Inspiration Challenge (Sea of Textures)

August 17, 2018
TGIFC173.jpg

The beach, the ocean, umbrellas and sand? How do you interpret this photo inspiration? What do you have in your stamp arsenal? I opted to pull out the Sea of Textures stamp set (it's getting a TON of use) to play along this week.

Under the Sea (11 of 11).jpg

A little about my card ... I tried to play a little of the colors in this photo. Using oranges, yellows, blues and greens.

Play along with us! The design team over at TGIF Challenges has more inspiration for you #TGIFC173. Oh, and guess what? Whatever you create for this inspiration challenge would be perfect for the Global Design Project theme challenge (happening now until Sunday). Check that out too. Two birds, one stone. :)

Stitched All Around- Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop

August 16, 2018

Hello friends! Welcome to another Stampin' Up! Artisan blog hop. This round we are featuring the Stitched All Around bundle of products. Talk about darling ... the stamp set and dies in this bundle are adorable.

I've created two cards using this bundle that I am excited to share with you today. A full list of supplies can be found at the end of this post.

Stitched All Around Clear-Mount Bundle  148374

Stitched All Around Clear-Mount Stamp Set
It's doilies galore with this stamp set. Just look at those stitched effects!
* Quantity: 10 rubber stamps

Stitched Labels Framelits Dies
Create delicate die-cut labels in record time with Framelits dies and the Big Shot. All the stitches a girl could want! Several versatile label pieces and a stitched texture piece that can be used to layer under a focal element make this set a must have. Edgelit pieces add a cross stitch or straight line stitching as a finishing touch to a project.
* 10 dies
* Largest die: 3-1/4" x 2-3/4" (8.3 x 7 cm)
* Use with Big Shot

Darling, darling, darling! You are fabulous. I love being able to make a custom greeting by omitting certain parts of a stamp image. I used the Stamparatus hinge step to get perfect placement by repeating "darling". I used Stampin' Write markers to ink the on the "darling" portion of the stamp (Pineapple Punch, Grapefruit Grove & Bermuda Bay). I was able to marker ink the sentiment multiple times to get the ink saturation I was looking for. Another benefit to using the Stamparatus!

The little cluster of flowers comes from the Pop of Petal stamp set. The flowers are hand cut and arranged with a few Blossom Elements and pearls as accents.

Two for the price of one ... Use up those negative shapes when you use the dies. I used the outside shape from of the large stitched die to create the window for the three "darlings" ... it's hard to see but card front is also embossed using the Subtle Textured Embossing folder.

Thank You card in Grapefruit Grove using the Stitched All Around bundle - Charlet Mallett, Stampin' Up!

This Thank You card is all about Grapefruit Grove, layers and faux & real stitching. The watercolor background is actually stitched onto the card front using my trusty old sewing machine.  I like this look and tend to do it often.

Layers: I've used a few of the dies to layer and create the card focal point. I've extended the Grapefruit Grove stitched label to fit longer horizontally by snipping in half and adhering to either side of the Thank You circle.

Do you like the look of a monochromatic card? You can really make one color go a long way by adding layers and a variety of tones.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you've found a bit of inspiration to help you in your crafting. Up next is fellow artisan, friend and super talented crafter Connie Collins.

Please know I appreciate YOU and all of your lovely comments. Have a great day!

Under the Sea - Global Design Project - Theme Challenge

August 13, 2018
gdp151.jpg

Take me to the Sea is the perfect theme for this time of year. The Global Design Project is bringing you all things nautical this week with this theme.

Earlier this year when we were visiting San Diego we spent the day at the beach and I came across 20 sand dollars. I've never found one before so you can imagine my delight to find over a dozen of them. Each sand dollar was unique and unbleached from the sun. That experience was part of the inspiration for this card.

Under the Sea (4 of 11).jpg

Additional inspiration for this card also came from fellow crafter Christy Velasquez (thestampcycle). She created a multi-colored sand dollar card that I adore. She makes amazing cards and you should give her a follow on Instragram.

Ready to play along with us? Check out the Global Design Project blog for details on how to play along.

I pulled out the 'Good Greetings' stamp set and heat set the large greeting with white emboss powder. This greeting is so pretty. Then, I water painted a peachy color over the top for a soft & airy look. For the flowers I painted a few pink and peach multi-color washes and then punch out using various flower punches. The flower centers are irridescent rhinestones. Stampin' Up! products you can still purchase: Basic White cardstock, Fluid 100 watercolor Ink colors: Peach Pie, Pretty in Pink and Cloud Cover I can't wait to see what my friends pulled out from their stashes for this challenge. UYS is a monthly instagram hop where my friends and I get crafty and use what we have on hand to create a project around a certain theme. Use those supplies!
