Show me the Sunshine - Global Design Project 135

Show me the Sunshine!!! We have such a great theme for this week's Global Design Project challenge. I created this sunshiny card using a verse from the Sunshine & Rainbows stamp set, the blossom Builder punch and the negative space from the Celebrate You thinlets.

First, I created a red/orange watercolor wash using Brusho color crystals. I really spread out and smoothed out the color with plenty of water, totally dissolving those color crystals. Then I layered the negative space from the YOU die cut over the watercolor wash. The flowers are punched using the Blossom Builder punch. I used Calypso Coral, Peekaboo Peach and So Saffron card stock. Note, Peekaboo Peach is retiring soon. I'm sad ... but note that Grapefruit Grove is coming into the mix. It's a good peachy replacement. Grapefruit Grove is the color I chose for the card base and I LOVE IT.

You Are My Anchor - April 2018 Paper Pumpkin Alternates

Are you familiar with Paper Pumpkin? It's a monthly box subscription for cardmakers! I want to share this super fun idea. See that larger Pool Party colored anchor underneath the Island Indigo anchor? Take the negative shape from the anchor die cut sheet and create a little mini stencil mask. I sponged in Pool Party to create this subtle anchor shadow. I love it. The 3x3 cards go a LONG way when you start to cut them apart for accents.

Sunshine & Rainbows - Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Hello and welcome back to another Stampin' Up! Artisan Design team blog hop. This edition we are featuring the playful Sunshine & Rainbows stamp set and coordinating dies. I'm excited to share two bright and beautiful cards with you today.

First off, the products used on my cards are currently available in the Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog and annual catalog. I created these cards before Stampin' Up! announced their retired products list. So, these cards DO feature a few items that will be going away May 31st (specifically colors: Sweet Sugarplum & Peekaboo Peach). If you love these products as much as I do grab these items now, while supplies last.

Now onto the cards. I really like the idea of something special at the end of a rainbow ... how about a bouquet of flowers? Or perhaps a cloud of iridescent sequins? Options are endless and oh so pretty. Both of these cards take a fun approach to treasure at the end of a rainbow.

The flowers are the end of this rainbow were created using the Blossom Builder Punch. Each flower has been punched in the same color as the corresponding rainbow stripe. I added a little pearl accents to the center of each of these flowers and stained these pearls with a similar matching Stampin' Blend marker. This is a fun little detail and adds a special touch.

Here is a fun approach for a shaker card. Make that shaker work for you inside and out! This shaker window full of sequins can be seen from the front of the card and then once opened, seen from the inside as well. The natural motion of opening the card also allows the sequins to fall, creating a nice WOW once the card is opened.

Creating a matching window for the inside of the shaker is easy to do by flipping your paper over once die cut to match up with the front.
