Birthday Wit - Color Challenge - TGIFC141

Happy New Year folks! It's almost the end of the first week of 2018. How's it going for you? Gotten anything done? It's been a busy week around here—snow storms, snow days and deadlines. Not much time for crafting for me but last night I did find time to cram in a last minute card for this weeks TGIF Color Challenge. Wanna play along? Color challenges are always so much fun. Make a project with the three colors below and post it over on the TGIF Challenge Blog. This card features a new stamp set from the Occasions mini catalog called Birthday Wit. This set is so funny and perfect for any type of birthday card. It's a must have! Check out all of these witty sayings. I can't decide which phrase is my favorite.

What do you think of my little bow-tie creation? It was so easy. I used the new Tailored Tag punch, also from the Occasions catalog.

Four easy steps:

1. Punch the shape from your favorite paper.
2. Cut the shape in half. Swap sides so smaller sides are touching to create the bow-tie shape.
3. Wrap the middle with a piece of the same paper (.5 x 1").
4. Adhere together. So simple.

Petal Palette - Case the Designer - Global Design Project

Are you ready for a CASE the DESIGNER Challenge? #GDP116 Jenneke has used a classic layout that is perfect for CASEing. I adore the color combination she used and decided these two elements would be the starting point for my card.

I am itching to use new Occasions catalog products. It's hard to wait. Coming in January is this new adorable new bird and blooms stamp set called Petal Palette. It's pretty, feminine and painterly. I love it and I am certain is will be a popular set.

The bird and bloom images have been colored with Stampin' Blends. The scallop lace border used on my card comes from the coordinating thinlets that can be purchased in the Petal Palette bundle. And you might be able to glimpse a little Wink of Stella painted onto the leaves. Love that extra little detail.

Christmas Sweater - What Will You Stamp

Are YOU ready for an UGLY sweater on a cute card? Ok, I'll admit ... the sweaters are pretty cute too. This weeks What Will You Stamp challenge stamp set is Christmas Sweater. This set is all sorts of adorable and includes 6 fun seasonal sweater images perfect for coloring. I used Stampin' Blends to color the sweaters ... and the wrong black ink (Basic Black Archival). Doh. Too late to fix and so I tried to make it work. See how some of those black inked areas start to bleed? I'm calling those areas diliberate shadows. HA! Let my mistake be a friendly remember to use Memento ink as your black ink when coloring with alcohol based markers.
