Occasionally I cook, more like bake... I'm always looking for a great recipe to try and repeat. Many of the recipes documented here come from my need to use up our garden goodies. All of the recipes are tried. I recently gathered up recipes cards from my late Grandma Brooks. The Recipe Project started with my desire to type up and test many recipes from the kitchen of my Grandma, Anita June Loe Brooks. When I make them, I'll tag each of Grandma's recipes and hopefully provide reviews, tips and sometimes photos for each dish. I hope you enjoy.

Some of the recipes from my old blog have not converted properly. Search 'recipe' and you'll find a more complete list.

Blueberry Muffins (Jordan Marsh’s)

July 9, 2018

Nic and I picked a bunch of blueberries today. We wandered over to Westward Orchards in Harvard. Pick your own blueberries are 3.99 a pound and are gorgeous! July is the month for blueberries in Massachusetts. We decided to have an all things blueberry day. On the agenda: muffins, smoothies and blueberry pancakes. Now that we've exhausted our first picking we will certainly be back!

I spent a little time looking for a good muffin recipe and came across this one. After testing this blueberry muffin recipe is a KEEPER. It's a must try if you like blueberries & muffins. The original source can be found here. I've pasted the recipe below for my personal future reference.

INGREDIENTS

  • ½ cup softened butter
  • 1 ¼ cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 cups blueberries, washed, drained and picked over
  • 3 teaspoons sugar

PREPARATION

  1. Preheat the oven to 375.
  2. Cream the butter and 1 1/4 cups sugar until light.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla.
  4. Sift together the flour, salt and baking powder, and add to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk.
  5. Crush 1/2 cup blueberries with a fork, and mix into the batter. Fold in the remaining whole berries.
  6. Line a 12 cup standard muffin tin with cupcake liners, and fill with batter. Sprinkle the 3 teaspoons sugar over the tops of the muffins, and bake at 375 degrees for about 30-35 minutes.
  7. Remove muffins from tin and cool at least 30 minutes. Store, uncovered, or the muffins will be too moist the second day, if they last that long.

Stitching on a card … I ❤️ tiny details. The pierced holes on this die cut heart created the perfect template for sewing a simple stitch around the perimeter with white bakers twine. I created a heart pennant banner using smaller die cuts and the same twine. I love tiny details. #stampinup #endlesslove #valentinecard #cardmaker #cardmakingreels
Cut, cut, cut! I used the ‘Gears and Textures’ dies to cut a variety of shapes to create this slimline card for #gdp530 sketch challenge - that metallic paper is super cool and is called Textured Metallic. Gears are cut from the tungsten and chain is cut from copper. Cardstock colors: Lost Lagoon & Pretty Peacock. #stampinup #cardmaker #gearsandtextures #cradmakingreel
Gears! ⚙️ Have you seen the new 'Gears & Textures' bundle from Stampin’ Up!? It just arrived in my mailbox and I was so excited to give it a spin. I love this bundle, even if I’m not 100% in love with my project. This set has so much
Gears! ⚙️ Have you seen the new 'Gears & Textures' bundle from Stampin’ Up!? It just arrived in my mailbox and I was so excited to give it a spin. I love this bundle, even if I’m not 100% in love with my project. This set has so much potential, and the creative gears are definitely turning. I can’t wait to play with it more. This card follows the sketch for the @global_design_project challenge #gdp530, featuring slimline cards. Love them or hate them? I’m a little MEH on this format. Guess I’m an A2 gal at heart. 😂 My friends are sharing fresh ideas using Stampin’ Up! products. Check out the Monday Montage hop below! Big wood-mounted background stamps… I love them! This reel shows how I created this card using wood those stamps. This Valentine card features emboss resist painting and tone-on-tone stamping. Stamps are called TREE RINGS and DICTIONARY (vintage Stampin’ Up!), straight from my collection. These giant stamps never go out of style. I knew there was a reason I kept these bad boys around! #stampinup #cardmaker #useyourstash #cardmakersofinstagram #cardmakingreels
