Global Design Project - GDP242 - Sketch Challenge

HI friends! It’s a Sketch challenge this week. I’m so happy to see Rooted in Nature is sticking around for another year. When I saw the circle log piece I knew I wanted to incorporate this into the sketch somehow. The leaf has been colored with Stampin’ Write markers using Balmy Blue, Pear Pizazz and Crushed Curry.

We are welcoming three new designers to the Global Design Project team; Emma Goddard, Kayla McCreadie and Su Mohr. These three super talented stampers are sure to bring fantastic inspiration to our weekly challenges.

Rooted in Nature - TGIF Challenges Technique - TGIFC189

Hello friends! How’s December treating you? Are you as busy as me? I’m sure packing it in. The busier I am, the busier I get. Weird.

Why not chuck another challenge into the mix? LOL. It’s Friday which means it’s time for a TGIF challenge. This week we have a really soothing color combo for you.

I pulled out a catalog favorite to create this card. You can use just about any stamp set in the right colors to create a winter / holiday card. The trees on this card are from the stamp set Rooted in Nature (stamped a gazillion times). The Deer is from the Detailed Deer thinlets and the verse is from xx set.

My favorite little detail on this card the Balmy Blue paper handmade scarf. I feel for the deer in our area. They must be freezing. I know they are used to the cold but if I were a deer I’d want a scarf.

Rooted in Nature - Stamp Review Crew

This edition of Stamp review snuck up super fast. I guess that happens when we throw in a bonus round last month. 

This week is the Rooted in Nature edition of Stamp Review Crew. I personally LOVE this stamp set but I'll be honest, it's not my usual go to stamp set style (I gravitate toward more graphic and cutesy). That said I have loved everything created with the realistic nature imagery. Plus, it is a really easy to use stamp set and the large sentiments are perfect for card fronts. 

Rooted in Nature - Thinking of You card - Charlet Mallett, Stampin' Up!

My 'Thinking of You' card features a miss-mash of elements. It's kind of a kitchen sink card. I've paired the stamp imagery with the Wooden Textures designer series papers. A natural fit. I added some gold & white embossing powders and some ink spatters to the top of the tree image (stamped in Gray Granite). I like the textured look of the spatters/embossing with the various wood grains. A bit of a mess? Or a bit of success? Not totally sure but either way it was fun to play. 

Next up on this hop is Debra Burgin. I'm so excited to see what she has made using this set.
