Stitched All Around - Stamp Review Crew

September 1, 2019

Welcome to the Stitched All Around Edition of Stamp Review Crew. My project today is all rainbows and sunshine! I love how you can take any set and create a rainbow and so I went that direction with this card today. The background was easy to create using my Stamparatus and various inks.

The Stitched All Around stamp set and bundle have been available for a while now and the SRC are finally giving it a little attention. YAY. I’ve made quite a few things with this set. You can see more of my creations below. Now skip along to the talented Mary and continue along the hop. Our hop for this edition is short but super sweet!

What is the Stamp Review Crew? We are an international group of paper crafters that get together to feature and review a single Stampin’ Up! stamp set on the first and third Monday of each month. All of our previous stamp set reviews are archived. Click here to see all of the hops!

Ready for more inspiration using this stamp set? Next up is Mary. Be sure to go through the hop to see what ALL my talented friends have created using this set. Thanks in advance for taking the time to comment. I love to hear from you.

TGIF Challenges: TGIFC227 - Embossing Powder - Genuine Gems

August 30, 2019

Who loves embossing powder?! MEEE! I love it. Its like magic, every time I am wowed by the transformation from powder to smooth glossy finish. Embossing Powder is the product challenge for you over at TGIF Challenges.

I decided to use the Shimmer White emboss powder on my project today. It’s white powder with specks of silver glitter. It’s pretty but hard to capture in photos.

Two weeks ago I created a project using the Black Shimmer embossing Powder. You can see little specks of Glitter in this image. Somehow its easier to see the effect on the black.

Play along with us! Check out the TGIFChallenges Blog for more details. Tag your projects #tgifc227 so we are sure to see them.

Fancy Friday Blog Hop - For the Men

August 29, 2019

HELLO! Welcome to another Fancy Friday blog hop. This month’s hop is focusing on projects for the MEN in our lives. What stamp set would you pull out if you were making a card for a guy? Sometimes it can be tricky.

Today I am using the Rustic Retreat stamp set. It has a lot of great rustic images that might resonate with the type of guy who likes the outdoors, animals and earthy colors.

The card design was inspired by my coffee mug. I collect starbucks coffee mugs. I love the layout, colors and design of the new Utah mug. I decided to use the images in the set in a similar manner and create my own background. I made two very similar cards. I couldn't decide if I liked the card or not so I took another stab at it.

What do you think? Is one more successful than the other? I’m still on the fence. Sometimes I can really nail a good masculine card and other times … well, I’m sure you can relate. Lol.

Hop along with us. My fancy friends have lots of great masculine projects in store for you. Next up is my fancy and VERY talented friend Elizabeth. Thanks for stopping by!

The Gift of Fall Paper Pumpkin Alternate by Charlet Mallet - Stampin’ Up!

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - The Gift of Fall

August 29, 2019

Hello and welcome the the Paper Pumpkin Thing monthly blog hop where we share alternate products for the kits contents. This month’s Paper Pumpkin kit is called ‘The Gift of Fall’.

This kit is all about gift giving. 6 gift bags and tons of supplies to make multiple tags. Now, if gift giving isn’t your thing, there are tons of ideas on this blog hop sharing how to use the supplies to make cards. In fact, there is a special add on kit for subscribers that has additional coordinating supplies to make cards. You can view that kit here.

I made this kit up and created 5 bags and tags as directed. This is a super cute and quick to assemble kit. I had so many supplies left that I could easily make a bunch of cards by just adding cardstock.

I made one more bag and tag and altered the design a bit. I changed up that last bag by stamping directly onto the bag using the berry sprig stamp repeatedly in Merry Merlot. Then I used an aqua painter and pulled the Merry Merlot color from the berry sprig stamp into each berry for a soft watercolor looking berry. The tag uses bits and scraps leftover from the kit.

I created this card by adding only cardstock in Crumb Cake and Merry Merlot. I stamped the berry sprig image onto watercolor paper and colored in each berry using the same technique I used on the bag. There are so many elements in this kit I was able to layer and cluster a bunch of leftover bits to finish off the card.

More pumpkins! Playing with these stencil decorative masks is kind of addicting. I used a blending brush, Cajun Craze & Golden Glow inks to color the pumpkins. Stamp set is called Painted Pumpkins. My account is basically the pumpkin card making account now. 🎃 🤣 #stampinup #cardmaker #cardmaking #cardmakersofinstagram #paintedpumpkins

Pretty pumkins on white ... Here's the second card I created for #GDP569 using Pretty Peacock, Cajun Craze and Golden Glow. The pumpkins are a blended mix of the Cajun Craze and Golden Glow. The lighter leaves on the pumpkins are a screened back Pretty Peacock. @global_design_project #paintedpumpkinsstampset #cardmaker #stampinup #cardmaking

Card assembly! Pulling bits together for #gdp569 color challenge. I could NOT decide on a greeting and finally landed with ‘Celebrate’ because it is long and one word. Not sure if it’s the best greeting with pumpkins? BTW Golden Glow is the perfect pumpkin color! Pretty Peacock Cajun Craze Golden Glow #stampinup #cardmaker #cardmakersofinstagram #cardmakingreels

Celebrate! Fall is my favorite time of year, and the colors in Maine right now are fire. Swipe to see a photo of this tree I quickly snapped from the side of the road. I had to pull over because it honestly didn’t look real. So vibrant, and no filter! The leaves look like Cajun Craze and Golden Glow came to life. Those two colors, along with Pretty Peacock, are the palette for this week’s @global_design_project color challenge. I used those two colors to create the pumpkins on this card. Card base is Pretty Peacock. Play along with us and tag your project #gdp569. #stampinup #cardmaker #paintedpumpkins #colorchallenge
