Beauty Abounds - Stamp Review Crew

Hello and welcome to the Beauty Abounds edition of Stamp Review Crew. This hop will be all about the Butterflies! The Beauty Abound stamp set and dies include the most beautiful images of butterflies. As I begin to write this post I noticed I didn’t use many stamps from the set, instead the butterfly die is the primary focus. The dies are fantastic and help make a stunning card every time!

The background on this card is a fun and messy watercolor using BRIGHT Granny Apple Green and Crushed Curry ink. Speaking of watercolor … I want to send out a BIG THANK YOU to all the fantastic folks that attended the watercolor technique class Jenny and I hosted Friday in Atlantic City. It was a true pleasure to meet you all.

Climbing Roses - TGIF Challenges Sketch Challenge - TGIFC207

Hello friends! The TGIF Design team has a sketchy challenge for you. Isn’t this a fun layout? So many fun ways you could interpret this sketch.

I’ve opted to use the Climbing Roses stamp set and have watercolored the large rose image in Berry Burst and Tranquil Tide. The color combo is a little unique. I like the way the Tranquil Tide is playing off the Pool Party and the Berry Burst. Super fun.

Little details: The piece of Tranquil Tide cardstock has been dry embossed using the Subtle Textured Embossing folder. Then it has been flicked and splattered with a little bit of black ink. Last I’ve heat embossed the sentiment onto the textured cardstock, without using an embossing buddy, so the embossing powder might stick some into the dry embossed groves. Making the white look a little splattered. I like the messy effect.

Sweetest Thing - Global Design Project CASE Challenge - GDP184

Time for another Global Design Project challenge. This week just flew by. Hard to believe it’s Monday once again.

This week we are CASEing the designer Allison Okamitsu. I just love Allison’s style. Her cards always feel so fresh.

I made a birthday card for a sweet friend who just turned 40 using this beautiful layout from Allison’s card as inspiration. I attempted to recreate her layout using the Sweetest Thing bundle. This bundle is full of adorable sweet shop imagery. I filled the jar with 40 jelly beans, just right for a 40th birthday.

Enjoy Life - Monday Montage 136

The Montage Montage crew is back today to share and showcasing new projects we are working on.

Today I am sharing a simple card I made using the Enjoy Life stamp set. I paired it with a greeting from a retired set however you could recreate with card with any greeting. I love the imagery in the Enjoy Life stamp set, so versatile and works great for many occasions. I created a pretty simple watercolor wash using Night of Navy and a tiny hint of Berry Burst to create a dusk looking background. I like the effect.

More pumpkins! Playing with these stencil decorative masks is kind of addicting. I used a blending brush, Cajun Craze & Golden Glow inks to color the pumpkins. Stamp set is called Painted Pumpkins. Pretty pumkins on white ... Here's the second card I created for #GDP569 using Pretty Peacock, Cajun Craze and Golden Glow. The pumpkins are a blended mix of the Cajun Craze and Golden Glow. Card assembly! Pulling bits together for #gdp569 color challenge. I could NOT decide on a greeting and finally landed with ‘Celebrate’ because it is long and one word. Celebrate! Fall is my favorite time of year, and the colors in Maine right now are fire. Swipe to see a photo of this tree I quickly snapped from the side of the road. I had to pull over because it honestly didn’t look real. So vibrant, and no filter! The leaves look like Cajun Craze and Golden Glow came to life. Those two colors, along with Pretty Peacock, are the palette for this week’s @global_design_project color challenge. I used those two colors to create the pumpkins on this card.
