Fabulous Flamingo - Stamp Review Crew

It Fabulous Flamingo time! The Stamp Review Crew is featuring projects using the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set. The Stamp Review Crew are an international group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators that gets together to do a blog hop on the first and third Monday of each month featuring a single stamp set.

I love Flamingos. They are such a beautiful bird. With Valentine’s day around the corner I decided to play off the pink and create a couple of Valentine’s Day card. This card is all about HEARTS! I used the new ‘Be Mine stitched heart framelit dies’. These dies are featured in the new Occasions mini catalog and were seriously my first purchase! The neck of the flamingo creates a heart when mirror flipped so I had to try the old mirror stamping technique using the Stamparatus and the silicon craft mat. If you are not familiar with how to do this I created a simple tutorial and video in this previous post. Since this flamingo image is a four-step stamped image I need to mirror stamp the components all four times. It was a little tricky to align at first but all worked out in the end. What do you think? Often when I craft I have multiple stamped images and die cut pieces left over. I’ve used a few of those up to create a second Valentine card.

Do you like the border of intricate lace hearts? It’s such a cool die, plus when cut you get all sorts of tiny hearts to use elsewhere. This die is also included in the Be Mine Stitched framelits. The Large white heart comes from the inside (negative space) of the scalloped heart shape from the first card. The fun pink papers on both cards come from the Tropical Escape 6x6 Designer Series papers.

Piece of Cake card - Charlet Mallett, Stampin’ Up!

I created an interactive birthday card using a new stamp set and punch from the Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Occasions catalog called ‘Piece of Cake’. A full list of supplies can be found below. What makes the card interactive? It has a window on the front that opens to a little rosette badge adhered to the inside. Kind of fun and different.

Creating Kindness Blog Hop - Butterfly Bendi Card

Hello friends and Happy New Year! For me, 2019 is about trying new things. Particularly in my crafting. Have you ever made a Bendi card? This is MY FIRST attempt at a Bendi card. Honestly, I didn't know what a Bendi card was. I had to do a little research, gotta love google images. A Bendi card is basically a card with two flaps that interlock to create a rounded bend fold. The card can be closed flat and mailed in a standard envelope. Once I understood what I was making I set to create a template. I like to make the majority of my cards portrait orientation. Using one sheet of 8.5 x 11 paper you can create two bendi 4.25 x 5.5 cards. Download this template if you like my design.

This card features all sorts of fun new products available NOW in the new Occasions Catalog and as part of Saleabration promotion. The beautiful papers on this card come from the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series papers. The small colorful butterfly has been punched from the papers using the Butterfly Duet punch. And the intricate butterflies that have been die cut in white are created using the Butterfly Beauty Thinlet dies. A full list of supplies can be found at the end of this post.

Fancy Friday Blog Hop - Hello Cupcake card set

Hello friends and Happy Holidays! I hope you are enjoying this winter season and are getting a bit of a break from your regular routine.

A few of us on the Fancy Friday team are sharing one last hop for the 2018 year. Who are we? The Fancy Friday team is a group of talented Stampin' Up! Artisan's, both past and present. We hop once a month, on the last Friday of the month. If you are new here my name is Charlet Mallett and I was a member of the 2018 Artisan Design team.

We have big goals for the upcoming year. How about you? One of my goals is to actually send the cards I make. This would be huge. I really need to subscribe to the #makeacardsendacard idea. With that in mind our challenge this month was to create multiple cards that we could send throughout the year. I often only make one card of a particular design and I figured why not head into a little mass production to give me more mailing options in 2019.

I’m always in need of birthday cards and opted to use the new Saleabration freebie set, Hello Cupcake, to make a birthday card. I created this card in Balmy Blue and pulled in a few additional new products from the Occasions catalog and Saleabration promotion. A full list of supplies for all cards can be found at the end of this post.

Once the first card was finished I realized it would be a breeze to swap out colors and sentiments for a variety of occasions. So I created additional cards in Blushing Bride and Daffodil Delight.

Now I just need to get organized. How do you manage your mailings? Do you tackle it monthly? Weekly? Or spur of the moment? I’m typically a spur of the moment (oh crap I need to send a card) kind of gal. I think I might try a monthly approach set aside an hour or so at the beginning of the month to address and write the cards out for that month. I’ll keep you posted on how that goes. I seem to start big like a bursting balloon and deflate a little as the year goes on.
