It's sketch week for the Global Design Project. My card uses the Pop of Petals stamp set/punch and the A Big Thank You stamp set.

The embossed background on this card uses a new favorite embossing folder called Striped Scallops. COLORS: Soft Seafoam & Poppy Parade. Full supplies listed out below.

Birthday Backgrounds - TGIFC167 - Color Challenge

COLOR! This week's TGIF Color challenge screams fun, right? Its so bright, happy and summery. This same card design would look cool in a patriotic red, white and blue. I might just try that out.

Side note: I found this awesome 50-60's outdoor furniture at a friends boat house and was so inspired by the colors and patterns. It kind of drove my card creation. My card is more yellow/orange than this sofa but you kind of get a similar feel/vibe. Now I need to talk my friend into selling me this gem. Isn't it gorgeous?

Artisan Design Hop - Color Your Season Promotion

Falling Leaves card featuring the Blended Seasons Stamp set. Charlet Mallett - Stampin' Up!

Alrighty! Let's talk about the projects I'm sharing. The Artisan Design Team was asked to create projects targeting specific season. The season I am featuring is FALL. Harvest time and falling leaves are some of the imagery that comes to mind when I think of the Fall.

This 'Falling Leaves' card features the leaves image from the stamp set as well as the leaf die from the Stitched Season dies. I've also used the large stitched label shape shown behind the leaves.

The stamped leaves are colored with the Cajun Craze, Flirty Flamingo and Crushed Curry watercolor pencils directly onto watercolor paper. The colors are blended and lightened by adding water from an Aqua Painter. Flirty Flamingo might not seem an obvious color choice for fall but I found the way this color blends with Cajun Craze made these maple leaves pop! Love it.

Harvest Wheat Thank You card featuring the Blended Seasons Stamp set. Charlet Mallett - Stampin' Up!

This 'Harvest Thank You' card features the wheat image from the stamp set. This image is colored using the Crushed Curry and Granny Apple Green watercolor pencils. The background behind the wheat is also created using the watercolor pencils. Simply color a shape (I used Coastal Cabana on my project) and blend with water. The examples shown below use Crushed Curry and Granny Apple Green watercolor pencils.

Both of my cards today also feature the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Textured Impression embossing folder. I love how the look/feel of wood adds a bit of texture to these cards. This is folder is a GO TO staple in my crafting.

Mixed Media or Florals - Creating Kindness Blog Hop

Hi guys! Guess what? I've been asked to join a team of talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world who have come together to inspire you to create kindness through cardmaking and paper crafting. The idea of creating kindness is right up my alley and I am exited to be a part of this monthly hop! This hop is also unique as any of the members have very active You Tube Channels and share videos along with their projects. GOALS!

This month we were asked to create a mixed media or floral project, designer's choice. Since I'm primarily a cardmaker I tried to incorporate both ideas onto a card. It's more floral than mixed media but it does incorporate watercolor, stamping and heat embossing. That counts, right?

WHAT IS MIXED MEDIA?
Mixed Media is a term used to describe a project that contains multiple types of technique or product into one project. Often these projects are an art journal with stamping + painting on the pages.

Mini but mIghty! I created this entire backgorund with one tiny stamp. This mini holiday light bulb turned into a cluster of tangled lights with a LOT of stamping. Card created for @stampinfancyfriday October mini but mighty challenge. The little light bulb comes from the 'ADVENT LABELS BUNDLE'. More pumpkins! Playing with these stencil decorative masks is kind of addicting. I used a blending brush, Cajun Craze & Golden Glow inks to color the pumpkins. Stamp set is called Painted Pumpkins. Card assembly! Pulling bits together for #gdp569 color challenge. I could NOT decide on a greeting and finally landed with ‘Celebrate’ because it is long and one word.
