TGIF Challenges One Layer Card Challenge - TGIFC211

Hello friends! Welcome to this weeks edition of TGIF Challenges. Today we are sharing one layer cards. I’ll admit I’m not the best at one layer cards. They are hard for me because I like layers and dimension. This card was my second attempt. The best part about a challenge is that is should be a challenge, right? Stretch and grow. #tgifc211 .

This card is only ink and paper. First, I laid down some masking tape. Then I stamped the larger and smaller magnolia flowers to create a background pattern. Then I colored the flower background using various Stamps’ Blends. Last I removed the masking tape and stamped the greeting. Done and done!

Global Design CASE Challenge - GDP188

Hello! My post is short and sweet today. A tip for you all, save your posts before you go to bed. Looks like I left my blog dialogue window open with a full posts written (for this one and other post) and didn't save. What a rookie move. Ah well, photos are pretty much all you need.

We are casing Brian’s card this week. I made two versions. My first card, shown at the end of this post, ended up looking like a duplicate rather than a case. So back to the drawing board! The second card used a similar template as Brian’s and I love how it turned out. Clean and layered and will be great for any baby gift.

Creating Kindness Blog Hop - Shadow Box card

HELLO friends! Welcome to the Creating Kindness Around the World Hop. CREATING KINDNESS: We are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world who have come together to inspire you to create kindness through cardmaking and paper. Every month we create around a theme or idea and this months theme is SHADOWBOX card. And, every month, we invite a guest to design with us. Our guest designer is the amazing Heike Bolze!

Shadowbox. What does it mean?
NOUN 1. a case with a protective transparent front, used for displaying jewelry, coins, or other small objects.

I’ve tried to emulate that look on my first ever attempt at a shadow box. The ‘case or container’ is the card. My ‘transparent front’ is the open window frame created with the Stitched Rectangle die. And the small objects for display are the various flowers, birds and the sentiment from the ‘Free As A Bird’ stamp set. Pretty simple if you follow the formula. I really loved working on this card and will definitely try this again.

There are many ways to create this look. Fortunately many of my friends on this hop have videos that share how they created their cards. Hopefully these get your brain spinning and help you making your own version of a shadowbox card. Thanks for stopping by!

Beach Happy - Global Design Project Challenge - GDP187

Create a Landscape… that is our Global Design Project challenge this week. #gdp187

I’m longing for the beach, beach weather, and a beach vacation. Since I can’t always get what I want I’ve created it on this card. LOL. My scene on this card was made using the Beach Happy stamp set.

Little details: I added some simple polkadots to the umbrella using a black Stampin’ Write marker. Super easy way to add a pattern and to customize your stamped images.
