Alrighty! My favorite Christmas Color combo at the moment so I had to play along. Of course as I got going I added a little pink alright a lot of Petal Pink but you can see the foundation. #ctd519

I’m loving this candy cane punch from Candy Cane Season stamp set and have decided to use it on all of my holiday tags. Full list of supplies can be found below.

Why not?! Let me introduce you to another cool card making weekly challenge via my card sample entry. The folks over at Color Throwdown have been doing their color challenge for a LONG time.  It looks like every week is a new color combination to try out. I am so into these card challenges lately ... more great reasons to craft!

Check out this Color Throwdown combination: #ctd384 #colorthrowdown - more details about their weekly challenge and inspiration can be found on their blog here.

Of course I needed to interpret these colors using SU inks. Turns out it is a great opportunity to pull out a couple retired Stampin' Up! Colors; Poppy Parade, Lucky Limeade and Wisteria Wonder (still current). I never get rid of any of my retired ink and I am so glad. If I were to use current colors I would of used: Wisteria Wonder, Real Red, Cucumber Crush.

My card uses the Eat Cake & Celebrate stamp set from Concord & 9th. Ribbon is a retired product from Stampin' Up! and the number 14 embellishment is from Studio Calico. FYI - Concord & 9th is a newer paper crafting company founded by a couple of awesome former coworkers. Their products rock! You can buy all of their products directly from them.

I used the candle image from the set and stamped it repeatedly to get 14 candles (this card is for a certain teen turning 14 soon). Then I colored and sketched random patterns in each candle image. I wanted every candle to be a little bit different. I filled in each flame with a little dazzling details glitter glue.

Blending Brush fail … but I made this card work in the end. The paper on the Specialty Embossed Cards has a little tooth and I could not get a smooth blend. Enter operation cover it all up. Haha. This card is all paper. The scrapbook kit is called Keeping Traditions SWK. Card created for #gdp526 #stampinup #cardmakingreels

This blue and purple winter card uses tidbits from the Calm & Bright kit. I used the negative shape from the fir die cut to create a stencil and layered from there. Blend, stencil, stamp. Masking and stamping! On this card I mask with tape, blend ink, then stamp, then stencil, and stamp again to create a layered scene. It’s so satisfying to remove the masking tape… always a fun reveal.
