A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - Alternates for Hugs from Shelli kit

May 30, 2019

Hello and welcome the the Paper Pumpkin Thing monthly blog hop where we share alternate products for the kits contents. This month’s Paper Pumpkin kit is a total treat.

First, it’s a hand curated and art directed kit put together by Shelli Gardner, the founder of Stampin’ Up! This kit truly represents her unique stye. It’s earthy, shabby and chic.

Second, this kit was offered Globally (first time). A Paper Pumpkin subscription is typically only offered in North America however for this kit customers could purchase A La Carte. Why should you care about that? Because my crafty international friends are joining us for this hop to share their alternate projects. MORE ideas is a great thing! There are 28 of us for this edition. This is sure to be a stunning showcase, so don’t miss a stop.

This kit is called Hugs from Shelli. The stamp set in this kit is my favorite. It includes a feather image that I just LOVE. I made a few alternates just focusing on the feather from the set.

I like full size cards so many of my ideas have cut down the original components so that I was able to double up and use them for full size cards. For example, cut one of the notecards in half. Use the front on a full size card (see nest card below) and use the back to stamp your own pattern. I created a simple feather pattern on this card below. Deconstruct the envelopes to create patterned paper. And … if you chop the labels in half you have effectively doubled the cards you can create from this kit. All you really need to add is the cardstock color of your choice.

This distressed base note card is perfect all on it’s own. Stamp directly on the card for a simple stamping look. #simplestamping. Step it up by adding a cut out feather and a little twine.

This flower image from the stamp set is darling. I’ve stamped this image multiple times and colored using Stampin’ Blends. These images have been hand cut out and arranged on this card. The striped paper is cut from the inside of the envelopes.
