Beautiful Promenade - Scrapbook Sunday Blog Hop - August

August 19, 2018

Hello again! Welcome back to another Scrapbook Sunday blog hop. This event features a team of Stampin' Up! scrapbookers that blog hop the 3rd Sunday of every month and share exclusively scrapbooking ideas using Stampin' Up! products.

Sunday Scrapbook (2 of 2).jpg

It's all about the numbers this month. While my 6x8 page is not chalk full of numbers the ones that are there are important. Last month I made page for my Grandmother's book documenting her birthday except that page had no numbers, no dates, nothing. Oops. Just a pretty page. So this month I'm making up for it. This page includes the year (2018) and her age (88), as well as the month and day.

While she has some balance and memory issues she is still trucking and is STRONG! This page actually documents her 88th birthday right before she blew out her cake candles. She is wearing her favorite color, purple. And, it's dated. That is important. I'll get the hang of this scrapbooking thing eventually (you may even get to see some journaling).

Let's talk products: Overall I like how this page turned out. I used the purple marble and purple flower papers from the Petal Promenade Designer Series Papers. These papers are photo realistic and really elegant. The stamp set is called Beautiful Promenade. I stamped the small flower images in Versamark and heat set with gold embossing powder. The stamped flowers are colored with Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Blends for a hint of color.  Do you like that repeating diamond pattern in the background? I DO!  That border was easily created using my Stamparatus and the hinge step. Oh, and those NUMBERS, the stamped numbers come from the Make a Difference stamp set. Full supplies are listed below.

This blue and purple winter card uses tidbits from the Calm & Bright kit. I used the negative shape from the fir die cut to create a stencil and layered from there. Blend, stencil, stamp. Masking and stamping! On this card I mask with tape, blend ink, then stamp, then stencil, and stamp again to create a layered scene.
