You Are My Anchor - April 2018 Paper Pumpkin Alternates

April 21, 2018

Are you familiar with Paper Pumpkin? It's a monthly box subscription for cardmakers! Every month a new kit is shipped to you, and every kit includes a stamp set, ink and the full supplies to create a unique design. This month's kit is called You're My Anchor and I LOVE IT!!! This kit makes the most adorable love notes and also includes a cute gift box to house those love notes.  I made up a few note sets as directed and had a bunch of leftover supplies to create a few full-sized card alternates. The only supplies I added were cardstock and ink.

If you are new to these kits I have a special for you, 50% off your first two months. Use code SAVEFIFTY0418 until May 10th.

I want to share this super fun idea. See that larger Pool Party colored anchor underneath the Island Indigo anchor? Take the negative shape from the anchor die cut sheet and create a little mini stencil mask.  I sponged in Pool Party to create this subtle anchor shadow. I love it. The 3x3 cards go a LONG way when you start to cut them apart for accents.

Blending Brush fail … but I made this card work in the end. The paper on the Specialty Embossed Cards has a little tooth and I could not get a smooth blend. Enter operation cover it all up. Haha. Masking and stamping! On this card I mask with tape, blend ink, then stamp, then stencil, and stamp again to create a layered scene. It’s so satisfying to remove the masking tape… always a fun reveal.
