Fancy Friday Blog Hop

November 29, 2018

Hello friends! I have some exciting news. I’ve been asked to join the Fancy Friday blog hop. The Fancy Friday team is a group of talented Stampin' Up! Artisan's, both past and present. We hop once a month, on the last Friday of the month. I love my Artisan friends so much and I am thrilled to be able to continue to craft with them every so often.

This month we are sharing our Christmas cards. My personal Christmas card this year is a hybrid card (part photo printed and part handmade). I did use some Stampin’ Up! products and my design skills to create the card, however my printed versions have not arrived in time to share. My original prototypes look pretty lame. So … I’ll share those another time. Stay tuned!

Instead, for this hop and to send to a few neighbors, I’ve made a fairly simple card using the Snow is Glistening stamp set and the Snowflake dies and embellishments. This is an easy card to create multiples of and I was able to create 10 quickly. FYI - Today is the last day to order the Snow is Glistening and other snowflake products.

Bonus! I created a second card for a few crafty girlfriends using one of my favorite Host sets called ‘Hung With Care’. The stocking images are adorable stamped in a single color. Perfect for simple stamping and stepped up a notch. Buyer beware. Never use the hashtag ‘hung with care’. Oops.

Are you ready to go? I’m so exited to see what these FANCY gals have in store. Next up is Cindy!

Blending Brush fail … but I made this card work in the end. The paper on the Specialty Embossed Cards has a little tooth and I could not get a smooth blend. Enter operation cover it all up. Haha. This blue and purple winter card uses tidbits from the Calm & Bright kit. I used the negative shape from the fir die cut to create a stencil and layered from there. Blend, stencil, stamp. Colors are Highlander Heather, Cloud Cover, & Lost Lagoon. @global_design_project #gdp525 #stampinup #calmandbright
Masking and stamping! On this card I mask with tape, blend ink, then stamp, then stencil, and stamp again to create a layered scene. It’s so satisfying to remove the masking tape… always a fun reveal.
