Hello friends! The Artisan assignment for August was to create projects using the Cottage Wreaths bundle, the Gingham Cottage Designer Series Papers, Silver Threaded Twine and Pearlized Enamel Effects. We needed to use all four products on our projects. This Artisan pod of 5 team members randomly (and uncoordinated) selected a different season to create around, uncanny! My projects are Christmas holiday themed and use a fairly traditional red and green color combo. I’ve created a card, a tag and a matching gift box.
CARD: This card is turned out really pretty and has some subtle details I’d like to call out. The card base and the pattern paper are Min Macaron. To create some definition between the card base and the pattern paper I added white embossing and paint flicks onto the pattern paper. A little dusting of snow! The paper wreath in the center is die cut from Mint Macaron and the leaves have been folded up for a little dimension. I used white craft ink and a water brush to add specs of white all over the wreath … more subtle snow!
BOX: I’ve used the envelope treat box as the base for this project. I create a simple belly band using the red gingham paper and embellished a wreath to sit on top. This wreath is full of dimension. There are three layers of cut paper wreaths (petal pink and basic white) that are offset and adhered together with random leaves popped up. I added white Pearlized Effects around the wreath. You can really see the silver thread woven through the twine in this photo. This twine is chunky!
TAG: For my last project I created a basic 2' X 4” tag base from Crumb Cake cardstock. I stamped the wreath in Mint Macaron and then stamped the berries on top using Real Red ink. I went back in and used the berry stamped images as a guide for adding red enamel effects. Perfect placement and so easy!
