Hello, hello and happy March! Something looks new here. … can you guess? I’m excited to join up with the Stamping Society. See my face in the official graphic? That makes it totally official. :)

What is Stamping Society? We are group of international stampers who showcase an idea monthly through a blog hop and then offer more exclusive ideas through a tutorial. The tutorial showcases 6 exclusive ideas along with instructions and a video. Details on how to get the tutorial at the end of this post.

This month we are featuring our favorite Mini Catalog Product Suite. Honestly you can’t go wrong with any of the current mini catalog collections, they are all favorites. Today I am featuring the Well Suited Collection. My Stamping Society friends are all featuring different suites so be sure to check out each of their projects.

HANDSOMELY SUITED - YOU’RE THE BEST CARD:

First, this stamp and die bundle is super cool and includes verything you need to create a well dressed suit & tie project. The dies are self explanatory and playing with them reminds me of playing with and dressing paper dolls as a child.

Let’s chat about this card. For this card I decided to focus on the stamp set. My card used the two tie images and the ‘You’re The Best’ Greeting. I did use the ‘TIE’ Die.

Recreate this card with me. A full list of supplies can be found at the end of this post.

  1. Cut a piece of Night of Navy cardstock to 4.25” x 5.5”. Adhere to a Basic white card card base.

  2. Cut a piece of the Grid Pattern from the Well Suited Designer Series Papers to 4” x 5.25”. Adhere to Night of Navy cardstock.

  3. Did you notice to fun drop shadow that is being cast beneath the three tie images? This was created using a stencil, sponge daubers and Smokey Slate ink. Create a ‘TIE’ stencil using the TIE shaped die. Start in the center of the grid paper and sponge daub the center tie shadow. Add tie shadows on either side of the center tie for a total of three shadows.

  4. Cut a 12” piece of Basic Gray Baker’s twine. Wrap around grid paper twice and tape off on the back side of the paper. See photo for placement.

  5. Stamp three tie images in Night of Navy classic ink on Basic White cardstock. Lightly color using a Pool Party Stampin’ Blend. Note: classic ink may bleed if colored heavily.

  6. Hand cut* tie images close to outline of the tie.

  7. Mount all three ties to grid paper above shadows using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Offset slightly from the shadows. *Note - you can use the die to cut the ties out however you may need to offset more in order to get the shadow to show.

  8. Cut a piece of the red pattern from the Well Suited Designer Series Papers to .5” x 2.75”.

  9. Stamp ‘You’re the Best’ in Versamark and heat set with White Emboss Powder onto a piece of Night of Navy cardstock. Trim to .25” x 2.75”.

  10. Mount greeting to center of the red pattern paper.

This blue and purple winter card uses tidbits from the Calm & Bright kit. I used the negative shape from the fir die cut to create a stencil and layered from there. Blend, stencil, stamp. Masking and stamping! On this card I mask with tape, blend ink, then stamp, then stencil, and stamp again to create a layered scene. Sending Joy! I created this wintry scene using the Calm and Bright card kit. I love the look of white on white. I pulled in some gold embossing and Crumb Cake to balance out all that white. This CAS kit has tons of cute and tiny elements (yippee for tiny stamps) that are perfect for creating an adorable little holiday scene. 166461 Card created for @global_design_project BRRR theme. #gdp523 #stampinup #cardmaker #cardmaking #cardmakersofinstagram #cardmakingreels #madewithmine
