It Starts With Art - Monday Montage 137

The Montage Montage crew is back today to share and showcasing new projects we are working on.

Today I am sharing a SNEAK PEEK of a brand new stamp set that will be available in the new Stampin’ Up! catalog starting June 4th. This set is called ‘It Starts with Art’ and it includes all sorts of fun paper crafting images and sentiments. I was lucky enough to snag this set as a gift at the last Stampin’ Up! OnStage event I attended in Atlantic City. I received three new stamps sets however this is my FAV of the bunch.

Sometimes you just have to break out the new toys and play, and that’s exactly what I did. Follow your art! I used a variety of colors of Stampin’ Blends to color they images and then arranged on the watercolored card front.

Check out this fun color experiment using the same set. I posted this the other day in my instagram, it was inspired by a card Kristina Werner made. This would make a great one layer card.

Hop, hop hop! Happy Easter all. I haven’t created much this year for Easter but I did create some quick and easy glitter bunny easter tags and a little piece of seasonal home decor. Sometimes simple is best!

Hello friends! TGIF Challenges Time. Do you like the look of pierced or stitched paper on your projects? It’s a great way to add a little texture and interested without much work. I pierce paper often through stitching. I love to sew on my cards. You can pierce paper using all sorts of stitched dies as well.

This ‘Thank You’ card uses stitching and a few fun products available now that will continued to be featured in the upcoming 2019-2020 Stampin’ Up! catalog. I made this card as one of my swap projects for the OnStage event I attended last week in Atlantic City. A full list of supplies can be found below.

Little details: The background has been embossed using the Lovely Floral 3D embossing folder and then stitched onto the card base. The Crushed Curry butterflies have been punched using the Butterfly Duet punch and a little piece of vellum has been layered on top of the smallest butterfly to create a subtle color difference.

Climbing Roses - Watercolor Class

Thanks to ALL the fantastic new friends Jenny Hall and I met on Friday (April 12th) during our watercolor class. It was a blast and we are truly grateful to you. We are thrilled you were able to attend and hope you walked away with a few nuggets to try and test in your cardmaking. SHOW us your skills, tag your projects #charletandjennyWC2019 so we can all follow along.

Side note: my phone was inoperable during my entire weekend in Atlantic City. While I was able to snap a few pictures to document the events, I was unable to view, post or even navigate on my phone. It was possessed. SO, so frustrating. Long story short, I have a new phone. YAY! So, while not timely, here is a little photo wrap up from the class Friday. Sorry for the delay.

Lastly, here is a detailed view of one the projects we created using the Climbing Roses stamp set, watercolor paper and Aqua painters. If you’d like to recreated this card a list of supplies can be found below.
