Apron of Love - Stamp Review Crew

I finally did it… I bought ‘Apron of Love’, just in time for the Stamp Review Crew to showcase it. Welcome to the Apron of Love edition of Stamp Review Crew!

Funny enough when I pulled out the stamp set I was at a loss as to what to stamp. Does this happen to you? My favorite sentiment in the set is '‘Made with Love’ so I started there. The coordinating Apron dies are so cute and there are many fun pieces. I was really drawn to the little kitchen utensils. After cutting a bunch of these utensils out in Whisper White card stock the card idea came together pretty quickly. The background color is a watercolor wash made from Flirty Flamingo Classic ink.

Apologies I am not showing any ideas using the APRON. Don’t fret. I am certain my friends along this hop will be sharing APRON ideas. Next up is the lovely Cindy. Thanks in advance for taking the time to comment. I love to hear from you!

One for All - Girl with Balloons card. Charlet Mallett, Stampin’ Up!

One for All - TGIF Challenges IMAGE Challenge - TGIFC205

This week TGIF challenges has a theme challenge for you. It’s all about the BALLOONS BABY! This is a super fun theme and so many ways you can interpret this. Do you have a stamp set with balloons at the ready? I have many but I was racking my brain on which one to use and then … aha moment.

I chose to use the darling girl on a bike image from the ‘One For All’ stamp set. She is not usually pulling balloons behind her but I thought she would look super cute with a huge bouquet of balloons.

The balloons were punched out of Melon Mambo and Coastal Cabana card stock using the small circle punch from the Bitty Blossoms punch pack. I punch each color about a dozen times. I layered these circles with a little silver thread to create the bouquet look. Turned out pretty cute!

Fancy Friday Blog Hop - Beauty Abounds - Case the Catty

Hello friends! We are CASING the catty for this Fancy Friday blog hop. What does that mean? Basically we are choosing a project from one of the Stampin’ Up! catalogs (aka catty) to CASE and make our own.

FIRST: what does CASE stand for in the card making and scrapbooking world? We use this term a LOT and there are various interpretations. I thought I’d share my opinion, for what it is worth. Do you have a different definition? Please SHARE! I’d love to hear it.

I chose to COPY AND SELECTIVELY EDIT this watercolor rainbow project shown on page 13 of the Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog.

What is the etiquette when CASEing? Inspiration is everywhere, right? Us paper crafters are all swimming in the same pool and drinking the same craft Kool aid. It can be HARD to know what is an original idea and what should be credited, especially when projects are “inspired” by another. In the legal world I am sure there is some percentage of a work that has to be changed to be considered original. I am not sure what that % is but my rule of thumb is give credit whenever you can. If there is any question, the answer is likely credit. And why not, promote others and further the craft!

Beauty Abounds - Charlet Mallett, Stampin’ Up!

My card pulls many of the same elements and techniques together as the card on page 13 but I love how different if ended up becoming. I chose to watercolor the background using three colors. I wanted the paper butterflies to really stand out against the colored background so I die cut them from Whisper White card stock. I stacked the sentiment in a similar fashion and heat embossed the words so add a little texture. What do you think? Pretty cool card that ended up looking quite different from the inspiration.

Geared Up Garage - Global Design Project Sketch Challenge - GDP182

Hello and welcome to this weeks Global Design Project challenge. It’s hip to be square! This week we have a sketch challenge. It’s all about the grid and hard lines and I thought it would be a super fun sketch to showcase the Geared Up Garage bundle and Classic Garage Designer Series Papers.
