Part of My Story - Global Design Project CASE Challenge - GDP176

HELLO Friends! Ready for another Global Design Project challenge? This week we are casing this colorful card from Steffi Helmschrott.

When I saw this card from Steffi I knew instantly I want to create a bright, rainbow watercolor background but wasn't quite sure where to go from there.

Do you like these bright colors? The combo is Poppy Parade, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green and Bermuda Bay. I used a little drop from the ink refill and an aqua painter to apply the color and love how vibrant these colors appear.

I thought it would be fun to create the eclipse technique using the Be Mine framelits. I decided to give the watercolor background a little dimension using a textured impressions embossing folder. I like this look however if I were to recreate this card I would dampen the watercolor paper before embossing just a bit to eliminate the cracking.

The verse come from the Part of My Story stamp set (free with 50$ purchase). I chopped it up to mimic how Steffi laid out her verse. Super fun and bright!

Check out the Global Design Project blog to see what the other designers have created using this CARD as inspiration. Play along with us! Tag your projects #gdp176 so we can be sure to find them on Pinterest and Instagram.

Creating Kindness Blog Hop - BIRTHDAY!

Boy am I longing for a little tropical relief in this middle of this freezing February. Maybe that’s why I crafted this birthday card with such a summery feel? Are you surviving your winter? I really need to see the sun!

I had a birthday last week. So many friends sent along lovely birthday cards. I am so touched by their friendship and really inspired by the beautiful cards that popped up in my mail. Birthdays are on the brain, which make’s the timing of this month’s CK theme perfect. The Creating Kindness crew are creating birthday cards!!! I always need a birthday card on hand. Hopefully this hop will provide you with tons of varied inspiration to get your birthday card ideas flowing.

There are so many fun NEW tools in the Occasion catalog but I choose to use some favorite “oldie” stamp sets that have been around a bit to create this juicy & refreshing birthday card. A full list of supplies can be found below.

Lovely Lattice - Global Design Project Theme Challenge - GDP175

Along the Garden path… sure sounds like a nice theme for a challenge! It just happens to be the theme challenge for this weeks Global Design Project.

When I think of Garden Path I think of florals and spring. That’s my favorite time of year to play around in the garden. I decided to use the Lovely Lattice stamp set and the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set to create a pretty spring Easter card. When you have a composed stamp set like this Lovely Lace set the hard work of designing a card is pretty much eliminated. Just stamp, color and go! This image has been stamped in black and then colored with Calypso Coral Blends. This card also features the gorgeous Lace Dynamic textured impressions embossing folder. I like how the Lattice lace grid image in the stamp is mimicked in the lace design on the embossing folder.

Check out the Global Design Project blog to see what the other designers have created using this theme as inspiration. Play along with us! Tag your projects #gdp175 so we can be sure to find them on Pinterest and Instagram.

Monday Montage - Climbing Roses Valentine Card

Climbing Roses Valentine card - Charlet Mallett, Stampin’ Up!

Are you guys ready to meet a bunch of amazing stampers? The Monday Montage crew is a talented bunch. I’ve met these ladies through my Artisan opportunity, various Stampin’ Up! gatherings and of course, social media. The Monday Montage gals host a blog hop every other Monday showing you fun and exciting Stampin’ Up! products. No theme, or challenge, just an awesome and inspiring show and tell. Are you ready to see what I’ve come up with for the 132nd edition of Monday Montage? Here goes …

The card I created for today features this pretty stamp set called Climbing Roses. The set also has coordinating framelits. With Valentine’s day right around the corner I decided to create a sophisticated Valentine, something I might send my mom or mother in law. I’ve been making cards for the kids and this approach was a nice break. A full list of supplies can be found at the end of this post.

Ready for more Stampin’ Up! inspiration? If you are traveling this hop in order you have just arrived from Cathy. Next up is Cheryl. Be sure to loop through the entire hop and see all of the amazing artwork created just to inspire!

OOPSIE! Sometimes links break. If this happens you can link back up with up with each of us on our home pages listed out below. Thanks for visiting! Charlet
