Hi friends! You may have heard I am co-hosting a watercolor technique class. You read that right!!! It’s going to be so much fun. A large scale class is something I’ve wanted to check off my list for some time.

A little about my watercoloring background … While I do have some formal training, from my BFA degree many eons ago, I primary learned through my cardmaking. Trial, error and practice. I really love to incorporate watercolor into my stamping and card making. I primarily use it to create one of a kind custom backgrounds, stamping with and painting in images, and mixing with other mediums. I exclusively watercolor with Stampin’ Up! products. Use what you know, right? I’ve learned a few tricks over the years. What works for me and what doesn’t work so well.

My good friend (and watercolor master) Jenny Hall and I have paired up to share some knowledge. She’s also has an arsenal of tips. I learn new things from her daily. We are super excited to share a tiny bit of our watercolor tips with YOU!

Our Watercolor Technique class will be hosted LIVE in person in Atlantic City, NJ the day before the Stampin’ Up! OnStage Local event is taking place. If you are headed to Atlantic City join us! Hello friends! Ready for this weeks Global Design Project challenge? This week we are CASING from this card of Shawn’s. I was instantly drawn to the color combo and the layout and built my card from there. You can see more of Shawn’s work on his blog at Shawn Stamps.

The Beauty Abounds stamp set and dies are getting a fair amount of love in my craft room right now. This card features both the Beauty Abound stamp set and coordinating dies. Those stitched rectangle dies are a must have! A full list of supplies can be found below.

You rock at being a girl! Floral Bouquet card

There are so many fantastic stamp and craft companies in the market nowadays. I can’t resist a good stamp set! Particularly a great verse. ‘You rock at being a girl’ is a MUST own stamp verse.

In December I treated myself to a few little gifts and purchased some stamp sets from THE STAMP MARKET and Picket Fence Studios. I also added some yellows and greens to my Copic marker collection. YAY! So today I’m taking a swing combining these new products for a vibrant and happy card.

The sentiment is from the #girlboss louise (Picket Fence Studios) stamp set. The large flower is from Floral Bouquet (the stamp market). The most affordable place (I’ve found) to purchase Copic markers is Blick Art Supplies.

Also (as I normally mention), I am a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator and LOVE all the stamps and products they offer. The black ink on this card is Memento, the b&w striped paper is called Botanical Butterfly (currently free with a 50$ SU purchase) and the sequins are ALL from Stampin’ Up! Cards for the PET Lover!

Back in December I made a few cards for our new Vet to hand out to employees for appreciation. I set out to find cat and dog stamps. This was BEFORE the new Occasions catalog came out with a fun new cat and dog set. However, over the years, Stampin’ Up! offered quite a few cute animals in stamp sets. These cards use a smorgasbord of stamps and product, watch out!

What do you think of this bulldog card? The cute bulldog is available in the Sitting Pretty Stamp set. I had to dress him up … the hat comes from the retired Guy Greetings stamp set. The verse and flowers are from the A Big Thank You stamp set.

These LOOOONG pets come from a retire host set called Long Fellows. I wish this set had stuck around longer…. lol. Both cards use the same basic template.

The gray cat on this card is created using the cat punch. The cat face comes from the retire Spooky Cat stamp set. The verse is from the Rooted in Nature stamp set and the papers are from the Animal Expedition Designer Series papers.

Told ya, smorgasbord of products! It’s good to have a well stocked and versed craft room.
