AMAZING opportunity - Artisan Design Team ... APPLY NOW!

May 3, 2018
Artisan Logo.jpg

You all know how excited I was to be selected to be a part of the 2018 design team. In case you missed my excitement you can read about it here. I've pretty much talked about it non-stop since. It's been an amazing and rewarding experience (in so many ways) and the year isn't even half over!

MY PSA TO YOU - If you've ever considered applying to be a part of this team NOW IS THE TIME to apply.  Read more about the team and experience here. The Stampin' Up! home office is reviewing sample portfolios now.  There are a few requirements, primarily to be an active SU demonstrator and to maintain and online blog.  Is really easy to apply and you never know how it might shake out. I was shocked and delighted to be selected and never thought it would be in the cards. You all inspire me everyday and I know others see it too. APPLY!

In honor of the fun I've had I decided I would post a few of my very favorite card creations from the last 6 months including a summery new card (shown above). Some of these projects might be your favorites too, maybe. Upon review it seems l like flowers, and using WHITE. LOL.

THANK YOU for all the fabulous encouragement and support. Your comments, kind words, sharing and CASing of my creations means the world to me. You guys rock!

The 2018 Artisans have become fast friends and are such a warm and inspirational group. Take a look at the fabulous company I get to keep .... Hugs, Charlet.

Share What You Love Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop #2

SHARE WHAT YOU LOVE ARTISAN BLOG HOP - ROUND 2

Welcome back. Did you catch the first round of the Share What You Love Artisan blog hop? The Artisan design Team is back to share even more projects using the bundles from the SHARE WHAT YOU LOVE promotion. These bundles are available to purchase today, RIGHT NOW!

My projects today use items from the Just Getting Started bundle (149526). This bundle is perfect for the beginning crafter who wants to start stamping and create quick and simple cards. This bundle includes everything you need to make these cards, including a clear block for mounting your stamps.  It's amazing what can be created only using Stamps, Ink and Paper.

I created a variety of simple notecards and then packaged them together with a cute little belly band. Shown above. This notecard package will make a lovely gift for a friend. Cute, eh? Are you ready to see the note cards?

Love What You Do (11 of 13).jpg

Card making does not need to be time consuming. If you are just starting out you can achieve fantastic results in minutes. Each of these first two cards can be created in a minute. These cards use a technique called generation stamping, sometimes called 'stamping off'. To achieve this look stamp your image in full strength ink on a sheet of scratch paper first to removed some of the ink density, then stamp onto your project.

Love What You Do 1 minute.jpg

These next two cards take only a few minutes to complete and involve more generation stamping  and a little hand cutting (sometimes called fussy cutting). I find scissor cutting to be relaxing. Do you?
BTW - Ink colors used, and included in this bundle, are Grapefruit Grove and Old Olive. Paper color is Very Vanilla.

Love What You Do 3 minute.jpg

These last cards can be achieved in under 5 minutes but are not any more difficult to create, just include more stamping and more cutting which takes more time. I've created simple backgrounds by repeatedly stamping the same image over and and over to create a pattern.  Stamps, Ink & Paper BABY! Easy peasy.

Lovely Wishes - What Will You Stamp

April 30, 2018
27912571_10156032743079454_4445852530278896735_o.jpg

Lovely Wishes is a beautiful stamp set.  I enjoyed playing around with it for this weeks What Will You Stamp Challenge.

I stamped a few of the images in versa mark ink and heat embossed in white. Then I  watercolored with Brusho color crystals. I created a few pieces and couldn't decide how to turn them into cards. I liked how they looked without much else added. So I opted for a fairly simple card with a couple of pearls as accents. What do you think?

Check out what the team has created on the WWYS blog.

Fruit Basket - Case the Designer Global Design Project

April 30, 2018

How lucky are we?! This week over at the Global Design Project we are CASING the amazing Allison Okamitsu. Another fabulous designer and opportunity to CASE. I love Allison's work. CASE = Copy And SHARE Everything. Or copy and selectivly edit.

While I absolutely adore the layout of Allison's strawberry card I opted to pull from the same products and colors. My card also  features the Fruit Basket stamp set and the Tutti Fruiti Designer Series papers. I had so much fun playing with these products that I created an alternate below.

Check out the #GDP136 challenge and be sure to play along with us!

Can you see that JUICY strawberry? I added just a little fine tip glue to the image to give it that shiny, wet look.

A sweet card for a sweet friend! We are CASING the amazing @tinkermom85 this week @global_design_project - I love how Wendy stamped on patterned paper to add a quick pop of color. I took a similar approach and stamped the berries from the 'Filled with Sweetness' stamp set onto red patterned paper. The green stems were stamped directly onto Garden Green cardstock and then cut out and layered onto the red berries. Play along and tag your project #gdp544 The acronym CASE typically stands for Copy And Share Everything (or sometimes Copy And Selectively Edit). It refers to finding inspiration in another person's card design-such as layout, colors, or techniques, and recreating it, either exactly or with minor changes. #stampinup #filledwithsweetness #cardmaker #cardmakingideas
Water & ink. I used water and classic ink to create this soft pastel card. Paper: watercolor paper. I used a variety of flower punches from my collection to create the multi-layered flowers. When I think of pastel I think watercolor. For this month our 'Use Your Stash' theme is PRETTY PASTEL. I pulled out the 'Good Greetings' stamp set and heat set the large greeting with white emboss powder. This greeting is so pretty. Then, I water painted a peachy color over the top for a soft & airy look. For the flowers I painted a few pink and peach multi-color washes and then punch out using various flower punches. The flower centers are irridescent rhinestones. Stampin' Up! products you can still purchase: Basic White cardstock, Fluid 100 watercolor Ink colors: Peach Pie, Pretty in Pink and Cloud Cover I can't wait to see what my friends pulled out from their stashes for this challenge.
