Crafting Forever - What Will You Stamp

My Grandfather makes the most gorgeous wood pens. I created this card for him using the Crafting Forever stamp set. I was inspired by his awesome handiwork and tried to take that approach with this card. I used my Stamparatus tool to line up the pen images and then stamped them in Momento ink. Each pen is uniquely colored using Stampin' Blends. A full supply list can be found below.

I like how this card turned out and hope he does also. While I didn't mean to, this card also channels the current color challenge over on the Global Design Project Blog. HA!

World Autism Awareness Blog Hop

I'm honored to be a part of a massive blog hop bringing and raising awareness to Autism. My project today plays off of the prominent #lightitupblue campaign. I've used the WATTS of Occasions Stamp set available from Stampin' Up! The background on this card was created using Brusho Color Crystals.

In my early days working as a photographer I was asked to create a family portrait for friends who had a three young children and one child with Autism. While there was lots of planning for the photo day to help make the experience successful we had not accounted for the bright flash of the camera. That spontaneous flash was traumatizing for this sweet little one and every flash brought on a mini attack (and a kick to the photographer, lol). This young man is now in his late 20's and I wonder if he even recalls this experience? I should ask him. Ha. Regardless we ended up with a memorable photo! Humbling how everyday simple experiences aren't always so simple ... a flash of a bulb.

Beautiful Day - Global Design Project - CASE the Designer

Hello to you and HELLO April! It's time for another Global Design Project challenge. This week we are CASEing this card (shown left) from Stesha Bloodhart. Stesha is a such a talented cardmaker. I love her style and the way she photographs her cards. If you are not aware, Stesha is a scissor master! Her fussy cutting skills are on the next level. It's a real treat to pull inspiration from her.

My card this week uses similar colors: Daffodil Delight, Pool Party and hints of Old Olive.

The butterfly from the Beautiful Day stamp set has been hand cut and layered. I positioned the butterfly on top of a small piece of Wood Textures paper (a little homage to the wood theme that carries through Stesha's photographs).

Happy Birthday Gorgeous - Stamp Review Crew

The Stamp Review Crew is a group of International Stampin' Up! demonstrators who want to show you how much you can do with ONE stamp set. Each edition the SRCrew will showcase a new featured stamp set. Each stop along the hop will show you a different idea, or ideas using that set! For this edition of Stamp Review Crew were are highlighting the many ways you can use the stamp set Happy Birthday Gorgeous.

For this card I decided to used this set a little bit differently. I opted to create a 'Celebrate' card featuring a Spring bouquet of flowers arranged in a vase. The vase is created from the Pretty Label Punch. The top of the punch shape has been chopped and then placed on the bottom to create an entirely new shape. The ribbon has been tied to hide the seam.
