Rose Wonder - Stamp Review Crew

March 5, 2017

Welcome back! Today the Stamp Review Crew is stamping with Rose Wonder. This is a large stamp set with many different occasion verses included in the set. The set has coordinating thinlets. Both are available in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.  I chose to create a wedding card and used the Wedding Wishes phrase. The lace border image along the bottom comes from the Delicate Details stamp set, which is part of Sale-a-bration and can be earned for free with any 50$ USD purchase.

A note about this card ... I likely won't be recreating anytime soon. I had this great idea to use the negative spaces from the large rose thinlet as the primary image for my card. I really love the look of this but, boy, it was a time suck. It also uses a fair amount of foam adhesive or Stampin' dimensionals.

To create the flower I die cut the large rose and left all of the pieces carefully in place in the die. Next, from the back side of the rose I added foam adhesive to all of the negative pieces. Some of those negative pieces are super tiny so I needed to cut down the dimensionals a bit. Then I adhered the rose to the card front and carefully pulled the positive rose image away from the negative rose image. Viola! Looks so simple but it really took forever.

Are you ready to be really inspired? Hop along to the talented Rochelle to see her lovely project. If you are traveling backwards visit Charlene, another amazing stamper! You can always start form the beginning at the Stamp Review Crew blog.

Color Combo - TGIF Challenges #TGIFC97

March 3, 2017

A big loud woohoo is in order! I am super excited to share some fun news. I've been invited to create with the TGIF challenge team. I know, right? This group of stampers is crazy talented and always inspiring. I love to craft for any reason, or no reason at all. Ha! Challenges are the perfect reason to craft and to use up my stash.

Are you familiar with the TGIF challenges? This group of Stampin' Up demonstrators design to a specific challenge every Friday (color, layout, theme). The TGIF team's main objective is to inspire you to get your craft on!

#TGIFC97

This week happens to be a Color Combo challenge, my absolute favorite. The team was asked to create a project using Bermuda Bay, So Saffron and Calypso Coral. I LOVE this combination of colors. Use any stamp set you own and play along with us. Tag your projects with #TGIFC97.

My card today uses the Thankful Life Host set available in the Stampin' Up! 2017 Occasions Mini catalog. I haven't had a chance to play with this set yet and this challenge was the perfect opportunity to break it in. This set is can be earned with Stampin' Rewards.

I created the So Saffron scallop border and the Thank You folded banner using the WindowBox Thinlets.

Head on over to the TGIF blog to see what the team created with this color combo and to play along.

Balloon Builders - What Will You Stamp

February 27, 2017

Hello! This weeks What Will You Stamp Challenge set is Balloon Builders. I really like this set and find it fun to stamp with. I like how transparent the images appear in this set when stamped over one another. This set is quite unique as you can build all sorts of balloon animals with the images in the set. I'm totally going to create a balloon wiener dog next time I use this set.

My card today is super simple using limited supplies but I really like how it turned out. Stop by the WWYS blog to see more wonderful inspiration using this set.

Lift Me Up - What Will You Stamp

February 20, 2017

Welcome to another week of What Will You Stamp. The challenge set this week is Lift Me Up.  This is a super fun set that has coordinating framelits. This is also the set the Stamp Review Crew focused on this week. Coincidences! Needless to say, I've used it a ton lately.

I created the background of this card using the congratulations stamp and a Stamp-a-ma-jig to help line up every stamp. There are a few instances where it's not perfect but it works.

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to stop by the WWYS blog to see more awesome projects using this set. If you happen to have this stamp set, make a project and play along with us!

I took a similar approach and stamped the berries from the 'Filled with Sweetness' stamp set onto red patterned paper. The green stems were stamped directly onto Garden Green cardstock and then cut out and layered onto the red berries. Play along and tag your project #gdp544 The acronym CASE typically stands for Copy And Share Everything (or sometimes Copy And Selectively Edit). It refers to finding inspiration in another person's card design-such as layout, colors, or techniques, and recreating it, either exactly or with minor changes. #stampinup #filledwithsweetness #cardmaker #cardmakingideas

When I think of pastel I think watercolor. For this month our 'Use Your Stash' theme is PRETTY PASTEL. I pulled out the 'Good Greetings' stamp set and heat set the large greeting with white emboss powder. This greeting is so pretty. Then, I water painted a peachy color over the top for a soft & airy look. For the flowers I painted a few pink and peach multi-color washes and then punch out using various flower punches. The flower centers are irridescent rhinestones.
