Trick or Treat - Halloween Scraps Card

October 31, 2017

Happy Halloween! I love this rad holiday and all the traditions it brings. I'm a little sad to share my last Halloween project this season but super excited to move onto Thanksgiving, more fall and Christmas projects. Paper crafting is so much fun.

This last card uses a bunch of scraps and outtakes from the various projects I worked on this month. As you may have noticed I used a lot of Pumpkin Pie water color wash backgrounds on my cards. I really liked with soft look against the contrast of orange and black images. Another favorite product this season is the black and white striped ribbon. LOVE IT!

I hope you have a happy and safe Halloween. TRICK or TREAT!

Letters for You - What Will You Stamp

October 30, 2017

WELL HELLO THERE! I find I make more HELLO cards than any other type of card. Not sure why that is but when I thought about what I wanted to make using the Letters For You stamp set for this weeks What Will You Stamp challenge, HELLO was the first word that popped in mind.

Letters For You is such a great alphabet stamp set. It has the perfect sized letters to make a real statement on any project. The HELLO letters became my primary image for this card. I bumped the letters up and down along the baseline. To anchor these letters a little more visually I ran a couple of quick sewing stitches across the HELLO.  I really like this little detail.

What Will You Stamp is a team of Stampin' Up! demonstrators who created projects each week showcasing many ways you can use a SINGLE stamp set. We encourage you to play along if you have the featured set. It's so much fun! Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!

Pick A Pumpkin Celebrate card - Charlet Mallett, Stampin' Up!

Welcome to another edition of the Stamp Review Crew blog hop. This edition is focused on the Pick a Pumpkin stamp set. This is a stamp set I love and have used a ton recently. It is a must have set!

Want to know how I got that distressed black ink look? I keep an old (somewhat dry) black ink pad around. It still inks up stamp images but stamps really uneven. This uneven distressed look can be so cool sometimes and I decided it would look great with the pumpkins from the Pick a Pumpkin stamp set. I stamped each pumpkin in black ink and then colored over the top of each image with a Peekaboo Peach Stampin' Write marker. What do you think? I think it looks pretty cool.

Want to see more inspiration using the Pick a Pumpkin stamp set? Hop along with the Stamp Review Crew and check out all the amazing Pick A Pumpkin projects.  Up next is Tanya.

A little background in case you are new to this hop: The Stamp Review Crew is a group of International Stampin' Up! demonstrators who want to show you how much you can do with ONE stamp set. Each edition of the Crew will showcase a new featured stamp set. Each stop along the hop will show you a different idea, or ideas using that set!

Inspired Events - TGIF Challenges #TGIFC131, Eclipse Technique

October 27, 2017
21368618_10214510848872838_241511384245921575_o.jpg

The Eclipse look is a very popular card making technique at the moment. I love the look of a little hidden word or element that pops out but may not be immediately noticeable. In the Eclipse technique, a layer of a project is cut with letters or shapes. Those letters or shapes are then mounted above the openings created by the cut out. I find this technique works really well when an all over stamp pattern is created on the base layer.  I used the 'congrats' word from the Sunshine Wishes thinlets to eclipse from the stamped background I created with the flowers from the Inspired Events stamp set.

Want to see some more AMAZING projects using this fun technique? Check out the TGIF Challenges blog. You will really will be impressed with the projects shown.  Try it out! Give this technique a try and share your creation with us! I can't wait to see what you create. Happy stamping!

This blue and purple winter card uses tidbits from the Calm & Bright kit. I used the negative shape from the fir die cut to create a stencil and layered from there. Blend, stencil, stamp. Masking and stamping! On this card I mask with tape, blend ink, then stamp, then stencil, and stamp again to create a layered scene. Sending Joy! I created this wintry scene using the Calm and Bright card kit. I love the look of white on white. I pulled in some gold embossing and Crumb Cake to balance out all that white. This CAS kit has tons of cute and tiny elements (yippee for tiny stamps) that are perfect for creating an adorable little holiday scene. 166461 Card created for @global_design_project BRRR theme. #gdp523 #stampinup #cardmaker #cardmaking #cardmakersofinstagram #cardmakingreels #madewithmine
