TGIF Challenges Inspiration Challenge - TGIFC209

Hello friends! Welcome to this our TGIF Challenge. This week we are playing with Sepia tones. #tgifc209 . I pulled together some shades of browns and brightened it up a bit with a little white embossing powder.

Little details: Each fern has been heat embosses and then I colored a little down the leaf spine to give it more contrast. Not sure how successful this look is but I gave it a shot. I “aged” the corners and edge of the paper a bit to give a little texture.

Climbing Roses - Global Design Project SKETCH Challenge - GDP186

It’s a SKETCH challenge over at the Global Design Project this week. There are so many ways you might interpret this sketch. I used this basic vertical layout and followed the image placement suggestions to create my card. I didn’t really stray much from the sketch, pretty straight forward this week.

Shades of blue … The Climbing Roses stamp set looks so pretty stamped and watercolored in Night of Navy and Soft Sea Foam. While the Trellis dies are sold out, the stamp set is still available (while supplies last). It will be discontinued on June 2.

Label Me Pretty - Handwritten Background

Hello friends! TGIF Challenges Time. Do you like the look of pierced or stitched paper on your projects? It’s a great way to add a little texture and interested without much work. I pierce paper often through stitching. I love to sew on my cards. You can pierce paper using all sorts of stitched dies as well.

This ‘Thank You’ card uses stitching and a few fun products available now that will continued to be featured in the upcoming 2019-2020 Stampin’ Up! catalog. I made this card as one of my swap projects for the OnStage event I attended last week in Atlantic City. A full list of supplies can be found below.

Little details: The background has been embossed using the Lovely Floral 3D embossing folder and then stitched onto the card base. The Crushed Curry butterflies have been punched using the Butterfly Duet punch and a little piece of vellum has been layered on top of the smallest butterfly to create a subtle color difference.

Butterfly Gala - Global Design Project Color Challenge - GDP185

Good morning! I returned from Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage local event in Atlantic City late last night and am recovering a bit. But those of you who love Stampin’ Up! (who doesn't) will be super excited to see the new catalog and products coming soon! Oh man. I am swooning here.

Ok, onto the business at hand. The Global Design Project challenge this week is about COLOR, monochromatic color. I chose to use shade of YELLOW on my project. I just LOVE yellow. This card features Crushed Curry, Daffodil Delight and So Saffron. The yellow just pops off the card when paired with a little white.

Details: Notice that little bit of shimmer coming off the bottom of the butterfly wings? That is Wink of Stella and I love the dusting of shine it adds to the butterflies.
