Global Design Project - Color Challenge - GDP205

Do you have a favorite word? A word you use more than any other word? For me that word is AWESOME and I love it. I've been saying it since i was a little kid! When I saw this stamp sentiment from the Genuine Gems stamp set I KNEW I had to have it. Plus, if the universe wants to send some awesome my way I’ll take it.

What do you think of these colors together? Kind of pretty! Stampin’ Blends are available in each of these challenge colors so I HAD to use them on this card. I love how they look offset with white and a pop of glimmer paper. A full list of supplies can be found below.

Genuine Gems - Charlet Mallett, Stampin’ Up!

Who loves embossing powder?! MEEE! I love it. Its like magic, every time I am wowed by the transformation from powder to smooth glossy finish. Embossing Powder is the product challenge for you over at TGIF Challenges.

I decided to use the Shimmer White emboss powder on my project today. It’s white powder with specks of silver glitter. It’s pretty but hard to capture in photos.

Genuine Gems - Charlet Mallett, Stampin’ Up!

Two weeks ago I created a project using the Black Shimmer embossing Powder. You can see little specks of Glitter in this image. Somehow its easier to see the effect on the black.

Global Design Project - CASE Challenge - GDP204 - Sailing Home

I love a super clean and simple sketch. This week we get to CASE this card by the talented Kerstin Kreis.

What struck me first about her card is the layout, overall symmetry and strong focal point. I tried to incorporate those three elements into my CASE version.

My project uses the Sailing Away Suite of products and the stitched rectangle dies. I love how clean and simple this card is. A good sketch is always a great place to start. A full list of supplies can be found below.

My husband and I recently celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary with a sunset harbor sailing cruise. While the weather was kind of foggy and overcast it was still a beautiful evening. The next day we even had an opportunity to visit a couple of lighthouses in Maine. Perfect card for this occasion!

Global Design Project - Theme Challenge - GDP203

A new baby calls for a handmade card! My cousin recently added to her family and I finally got a chance to use this set for a baby card. The timing is also perfect as we have a SUN, MOON AND STARS challenge at Global design Project.

What I like about this card … Gold embossing, watercolor, black and white polkadot stars and sequins. Ha! That’s pretty much everything. This card is long and skinny. I’ll package it with the gift and mail together. Now i’m off to buy a gift. Lol. Card first, gift second. Seems about right.
