Creating Kindness Blog Hop - Touch of Metallic - Geared Up Garage

Hello and welcome to the Creating Kindness Around the World blog hop. This month our theme is METAL. There are so many ways you can incorporate a touch of metal on your projects. With this card I pulled in a little Silver Metallic paper, Silver metallic thread and a metal star embellishment (retired). I would of used the Classic Garage metal embellishments but I couldn't find my stash. LOL. It was probably sitting right in front of me. Ah, well. I like the star.

Geared Up Garage - Charlet Mallett, Stampin’ Up!

There are many stamp sets that are a great fit with the metal look, I found Geared Up Garage to be the perfect stamp set to pair with that metal look. The Silver Metallic paper has been dry embossed using the Corrugated embossing folder and give that paper a 3D realistic look, without the weight of real METAL. The silver thread has been wound and stuck behind the car and vellum for a little more texture.

Piece of Cake - Global Design Project Theme Challenge - GDP179

Sweets for the sweet. How about a delicious challenge for this weeks Global Design Project? We are playing around with a little sweetness.

What do you have in arsenal of craft products that could fit this theme?

I cracked open the Piece of Cake bundle for my projects today. I ended up making two cards.

Each card uses the cake and pedestal as the primary image layers with lots of additional elements.

You can create visual interest on your cards by layering various items. I’ve use the heart images from the Be Mine dies to create a frame around the cake on this first card. The cake has been colored using Stampin’ Blends and Stampin’ Write markers. A full list of supplies can be found at the end of this post.

This second card incorporates layers and textures to add visual interest. This card could work for any LOVE occasion.

Here’s a tip for you: when coloring think about how you can change the look of the original image by coloring outside of the lines or deliberately leaving areas uncolored. On this cake I’ve left the flowers white and added a small pink halos around all of the dots on the cake.

Flowering Desert - TGIF Challenges Color Challenge - TGIFC201

Rabbit, Rabbit (as my friend Lori would say)! Happy first day of March. With Spring just around the corner the color combo for this weeks TGIF Challenge couldn't be more fitting. Doesn't this card feel like spring in the desert? Or how I imagine a desert spring might look? All my Arizona & Nevada friends, what do you say?

Google is my friend and helped with the curiosity. I’d say these combos are a pretty good match to our TGIF challenge color combo. Photo credits or original photo source is noted by each photo link.

The stamp set used on this card is called Flowering Desert and it just might be my favorite stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog. It’s super easy to stamp with and to create unique little scenes. In fact, this card is ALL ABOUT the stamping. Outside of the sequins the entire scene is created using the stamp set.

Itty Bitty Greetings - Global Design Project Sketch Challenge - GDP178

Hello and happy Monday. I’ve got a cheery card for you today.

I opted to use a few products that I haven’t cracked open for my Global Design Project card for this week’s sketch challenge. I started out playing around the Happiness Blooms Memories and More kit. I love the designs of the little 3x4 cards and thought one might make a great base for the card layout. The Happiness Blooms M&M kit also includes some fun die cut images and that is where I pulled the ‘Smile’ sentiment from.

Bitty Blooms is a mini four pack of flower punches that coordinate with the imagery in the M&M kit. I used the 8 petal flower to punch and create a few floating flowers to frame the sentiment.

It’s a little early for graduation card however I know I will need a few of these kinds of cards in the coming months so I pulled the Happy Graduation sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set.
