Halloween Treat - Ink Bug Swaps

It's SWAP time. I made Halloween Treat Swaps for my upline team meeting this coming Saturday. Theme: Holiday mini projects swap. Can't wait to see what the team makes.

My Halloween Treat projects ... The card and treat bag topper are essentially the same template. Easy to use for either a treat or a card. The treat includes the ever so yum yum Hershey's Pumpkin Kiss, a must try!

The Halloween Treat stamp has been inked with markers to achieve the multi color look. The ombre effect on the words 'Happy Halloween' and 'Trick or Treat' was achieved using a basic black and a smokey slate Stampin' Write marker. This is a super simple little technique that is easy to do with any two colors.

Vintage Leaves - WWYS81

Vintage Leaves is the Challenge set for this week over at the What Will You Stamp blog. Appropriately timed! The leaves are starting to turn. It's a beautiful process and my favorite time of year. I've read that, here in Massachusetts, the leaf colors might not be as bright as usual due to the drought this summer. I'm hoping that is not the case, but we will see. Until then I'll just keep stamping with fall colors and fall ish cards to hold me over.

These card uses Vintage Leaves stamp set and a new Holiday Mini stamp set, Paisleys and Posies. All other products used on the card are also from the new Holiday mini. It's nice to be able to use the Halloween DSP & Washi on a Fall card.

Swirly Bird - WWYS80

Oh my gosh! I love this card and I hope my Grandma loved it too. She fell a few weeks back and has been recovering in a PT facility. She has been in a bunch of pain, even though she hides it well. Hopefully this card brightened her day a tiny bit.

In the Meadow - WWYS079

In the Meadow is this weeks What Will You Stamp challenge set. Every week the design team over at WWYS picks a Stampin' Up! stamp set to highlight. Every designer makes a card with that set and all are featured on the WWYS blog. You can play along with us. Make a project using the featured set and win the chance to be a featured stamper in a future WWYS post. Fun stuff.

Some of the chosen sets are easier to work with than others. This was a hard set for me to create with. It took me a while to come up with a project I liked. This is a different art style than I typically stamp with. I needed a more masculine card and I thought the imagery in this set worked for perfect for that need. My father retired this year, CONGRATS DAD! I made this card just for him. I cut apart the sentiment from the set and like how it hints to the years spent working.
