A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - Hope Box

September 2, 2021

Hello and welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Thing monthly blog hop. This hop is all about creating and sharing alternate projects for the current Paper Pumpkin kit. This month’s Paper Pumpkin kit is called ‘Hope Box’.

The suggested cards for this kit are beyond cute. There are 3 cards with coordinating envelopes and a belly band to turn the packaging box into a gift box.

I created three alternate cards, two have a monochromatic color theme (pink/purple & blue/teal). The only additional product pulled in is Versamark & White Emboss powder.

This last alternate project uses the envelope as a belly band to hold and package three cards together as a small gift.

What is Paper Pumpkin? Paper Pumpkin is a monthly subscription craft kit full of goodness from Stampin' Up! Every kit includes a stamp set, supplies, ink and projects instructions. Are you a Paper Pumpkin subscriber? If not you can sign up here. Monthly kits are 21.95 USD (includes shipping).

Stamping Society - Fall / Spring (Gorgeous Leaves)

September 1, 2021

Hello, hello! Welcome to another Stamping Society Monthy tutorial. This month we are sharing ideas for Spring or Fall cards. Here in the United States Fall is upon us and so I opted to create a leaf THANK YOU card for the season.

What is Stamping Society? We are group of international stampers who showcase an idea monthly through a blog hop and then offer more exclusive ideas through a tutorial. The tutorial showcases 6 exclusive ideas along with instructions and a video. Details on how to get the tutorial at the end of this post.

Fall just might be my favorite season. I love the changing leaves and all the color they bring. I also adore stamp sets with leaves … who am I kidding, I love all stamp sets, lol. For this card I am using the ‘Gorgeous Leaves’ bundle of products. The ‘Gorgeous Leaves’ stamp set is full of fantastic leaf images but it does not include any verses so I pulled the THANK YOU form the ‘Little Delights’ stamp set. Below are instructions on how to recreate this card.

Fall THANK YOU Card using Gorgeous Leaves

Instructions:

  1. Cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 11” x 4.25”. Score and fold in half to create easel card base.

  2. Dry emboss the front side of the card using the Timeworn emboss folder.

  3. Cut a piece of the black and white stripe Pattern Party Host DSP to 3.25 x 4 and mount to card front.

  4. Cut a piece of Fluid 100 watercolor paper to 3.25 x 3.5. Lightly mist paper to dampen.

  5. Stamp the wood grain image from Gorgeous Leaves in Crumb Cake onto the Fluid 100 watercolor paper. See card for placement.

  6. Stamp the small speckled image in Soft Succulent onto the Fluid 100 watercolor paper. See card for placement. Set aside to dry.

  7. Once dry, center and mount stamped background to Pattern Party DSP. Leave .25” on top and bottom.

  8. Die cut the large maple leaf and tiny leaf in Soft Succulent cardstock. Die cut tall skinny leaf in Mint Macaron cardstock. Die cut the 3 petal leaf in Calypso Coral.

  9. Arrange and adhere the four leaves to card. See card for placement.

  10. Stamp the 'Thank You’ sentiment from Little Delights set in Versamark on a piece of black cardstock.

  11. Pour white emboss powder in stamped Versamark ink. Clean up excess with fine tip paint brush if needed.

  12. Heat set using white emboss powder.

  13. Trim sentiment out and cut apart the ‘THANK’ and ‘YOU’.

  14. Mount sentiment to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Arrange onto the stamped wood grain image. See card for placement.

  15. Tie a bow using linen thread and adhere to card from using Glue Dot.

  16. Add epoxy embellishments to card front.

SAB Aug-Dec #1 - Stamp Review Crew - Penguin Playmates DSP - Counting Sheep

August 30, 2021

Hello friends! Welcome to the SAB Aug-Dec #1 Edition of Stamp Review Crew. How fun is it that Saleabration is happening twice this year! Bonus for all of us. The Stamp Review Crew are sharing some of their favorite Freebies for this SRC blog hop. One of my current favorites is the Penguin Playmate Designer Series Paper. I love that is coordinates with the Penguin Place stamp set and punch. My card really focuses on the cute paper … both penguins have been cut from the paper and various patterns are shown on this one card. Hope you enjoy!

At the end of this post are a couple more projects featuring the newest SAB goodies.

What is the Stamp Review Crew? We are an international group of paper crafters that get together to feature and review a single Stampin’ Up! stamp set on the first and third Monday of each month. All of our previous stamp set reviews are archived. Click here to see all of the hops!

Ready for more inspiration using this stamp set? Next up is Betty Traciak. Be sure to go through the hop to see what ALL my talented friends have created using this set. Thanks in advance for taking the time to comment. I love to hear from you.

A sweet card for a sweet friend! We are CASING the amazing @tinkermom85 this week @global_design_project - I love how Wendy stamped on patterned paper to add a quick pop of color. I took a similar approach and stamped the berries from the 'Filled with Sweetness' stamp set onto red patterned paper. The green stems were stamped directly onto Garden Green cardstock and then cut out and layered onto the red berries. Play along and tag your project #gdp544 The acronym CASE typically stands for Copy And Share Everything (or sometimes Copy And Selectively Edit). It refers to finding inspiration in another person's card design-such as layout, colors, or techniques, and recreating it, either exactly or with minor changes. #stampinup #filledwithsweetness #cardmaker #cardmakingideas

When I think of pastel I think watercolor. For this month our 'Use Your Stash' theme is PRETTY PASTEL. I pulled out the 'Good Greetings' stamp set and heat set the large greeting with white emboss powder. This greeting is so pretty. Then, I water painted a peachy color over the top for a soft & airy look. For the flowers I painted a few pink and peach multi-color washes and then punch out using various flower punches. The flower centers are irridescent rhinestones. Stampin' Up! products you can still purchase: Basic White cardstock, Fluid 100 watercolor Ink colors: Peach Pie, Pretty in Pink and Cloud Cover I can't wait to see what my friends pulled out from their stashes for this challenge.
