Monday Montage 188 - Loyal Leaves

April 25, 2021

Hello friends. Welcome to the Montage Montage Blog hop.

I’ve been in a cardmaking mode lately. I’ve been trying to use all the stamp sets that are retiring to give them some love before they are gone forever. My card today uses the ‘Loyal Leaves’ stamp set. I do love this set and am sad to see it retire. It’s a perfect set for a more masculine looking card. This beauty is only available for purchase until May 3.

The Monday Montage crew is a talented bunch. A quick refresher: the Montage gals host a blog hop every other Monday showing you fun and exciting Stampin’ Up! products.

Ready for more Stampin’ Up! inspiration? Be sure to loop through the entire hop and see all of the amazing artwork created just to inspire! Next up is Cheryl. Thanks for stopping by.

Hello friends! This week the TGIF Challenges team has a theme challenge TGIFC313 for you to play along with: Pets. Do you have the dog or cat punch? If so you have everything you need to create a card for this challenge. Lol, or at least that’s how I approached it. SNEAK PEEK: I used a few fantastic new products (available My 4th) and paired them up with the cat punch to create this pet sympathy card. The primary flower is from a stamp set are called Hand-Penned Petals (and coordinating dies). The greeting is from the a set called 'Inspired Thoughts. The Designer Series Paper is also called Hand-Penned.

Like this challenge? Play along with us! More inspiration can be found on the TGIF Challenges Blog. Happy Stamping.

Global Design Project - GDP288 - Etched in Nature

April 19, 2021
gdp 288.png

Hello and welcome to this week’s Global Design Project challenge. We have a CASE the Designer challenge: Manuela Geiswinkler. Manuela is a true artist and her cards are always a great place to look for inspiration. I was really enchanted by the beautiful background she created on this card using blue, green and pink. I went for a similar look/feel on my card and I love how it turned out. The stamp set shown is called Etched in Nature and will soon be available through Stampin’ Up!

To create the background I used water brushes, classic ink and watercolor paper. I played around a few times until I achieved a similar look to Manuela’s card. I actually colored and cut the bird image out first so I could see where the color might land behind the bird. Colors used are Just Just, Misty Moonlight, Petal Pink, Soft Suede and Crumb Cake.

Dragonfly Garden - Stamp Review Crew

April 18, 2021
Stamp Review Crew blog banner(2).png

Hello friends! Welcome to the Dragonfly Garden Stamp Review Crew Hop. I’ve enjoyed crafting with this set. It’s not my typical style however I’ve been really happy with all of the projects I’ve created using this set. See additional inspiration at the end of this post.

Dragonfly Garden - Charlet Mallett, Stampin’ Up!

Dragonfly Garden - Charlet Mallett, Stampin’ Up!

CARD 1 (Thank You for your Kindness)

For this card I stamped the larger wildflower image in Crumb Cake along the bottom of the card staggering the image to make it appear less uniform. The flowers have been softly colored using Stampin’ Blends. I love this soft look.

The black dragonfly is from the Dandy laser cuts. I colored the die cut image black and love the contrast against the soft wildflower background.

I added a few black iridescent pearls to give the card a little more dimension.

The greeting has been stamped in Versamark and that set using white emboss powder.

Card 2 (You Are An Inspiration)

The flowers on this card are stamped and colored in same way as mentioned above. Same with the greetings.

For the card base I create a window frame using Mossy Meadow card stock and a square die. I added a hint of the yellow and white stripe from the Dandy Garden Designer Series paper. I like how this little bit of graphic paper changes the look of this card.

A full list of supplies for both cards can be found below.

What is the Stamp Review Crew? We are an international group of paper crafters that get together to feature and review a single Stampin’ Up! stamp set on the first and third Monday of each month. All of our previous stamp set reviews are archived. Click here to see all of the hops!

Ready for more inspiration using this stamp set? Next up is Mike Funke. Be sure to go through the hop to see what ALL my talented friends have created using this set. Thanks in advance for taking the time to comment. I love to hear from you.

Use your Stash! Specialty Paper Edition... I must admit I did a recent purge of paper and donated boxes and boxes to our local thrift store, so it was tricky to find "specialty" papers however I did happen to keep all colors of GLITTER and GLIMMER papers. This card was so simple to make. I choose some fun and bright glitter papers and cut into 1 inch strips for background. I pulled out the "Beautiful Butterfly" dies and altered the largest butterfly shape to create a full window opening to showcase all that glitter. Products you can still purchased from Stampin' Up! Banner Sayings Stamp set Three Banner Punch Basic White Cardstock I can't wait to see what papers my friends pulled out from their stashes for this challenge. UYS is a monthly instagram hop where my friends and I get crafty and use what we have on hand to create a project around a certain theme. Use those supplies!
