Random notes - April

Wow, this month is flying by. I feel like we've spent the month in our car, at sporting events and buried in the day to day.

The past few weeks have been fairly routine. I guess reason for lack of posting?

Few updates:
Seeds we planted are going crazy. Ive transplanted and now I'm trying to harden off the plants and have no idea what I am doing. Any help or tips are greatly appreciated.

Card club happened. I will post more about that later.

I attended the SU Riverton regional as a demonstrator. Saw many old coworkers and friends. It was nice to catch up. Miss my people.

I've been doing quite a bit more freelance and that has been fun and good. Turns out I like to design stuff. :)

I'm also working on a fun project for a friend. More on that later.

We've been making and freezing meals for Grandma. I drop them to her every few weeks.

Chris finished another semester. Wahoo! I just ordered his books and he starts another semester next week.

Chris almost broke his toe, showing off some soccer moves. Ouch.

Nic likes to pretend he's potty trained. Not at all. He also refuses to nap (in his bed). He'll sleep in the car. He is giving me serious bedtime grief. "Mama, you mean" when I try to put him to bed, over and over. But he can tell you his birthday, and which hand is right & left. Mr. Smarty!

Ben is the goal scoring master. Two hat tricks back to back!!! Go Ben. He keeps signing up for safety patrol. Two weeks in a row is enough Ben.

Andrew is enjoying baseball and school. He got a 4.0 again this term. That makes 3 in a row baby!

Life is good and busy. Here are a few pictures from the last few weeks. Mainly of Nic as he is my loving and constant companion. Love that boy.

Thanks for reading.

Magic of paint

I love paint! The smell, the action, & how it looks when done. Like magic.

Our entry way railing was on my list to update ever since we moved into this house. The old railing (while nice) is not really my style and I wanted a more modern and updated look. It would have been crazy expensive & silly to replace (it's functionally perfect). Enter paint.

I love how it turned out! And it gave me a chance/reason to pull down all the frames on the wall and clean them. Double win.

We also painted the mantle... More on that later.

Here is a before and after and some alternate views.

BTW - For me phone blogging/phone photos (crappy as they may be) are the way to go... I actually blog real time! This happen now.

One cute boy

Growing up so fast... I haven't posted on Nicholas in some time.  He is growing up so fast. Too fast.

He is very smart, opinionated and know what he wants.  He has become a little bossy - tell us all what to do and how to do it.  We need to change that behavior.  He is also very sweet and tells me I love you mama, daily. He likes hugs - squeeze hugs.  I am so lucky to spend all my days with him.  He is my little buddy.  He loves the park, slides, his brothers, little people, cars and the iPad. This kid is totally tech savvy and can delete apps - watch out.

His vocabulary grows daily.  Last week he told me his dinner was "gusting"... translate disgusting.  I serious laughed out loud. LOL.

I created a twitter account to document all of the funny things he says daily.  You can follow him @nicishilarious

Love this boy.
