Goodbye 2013

Happy Holidays and goodbye 2013.  Here is a look at the Christmas card I designed this year.  I took an annual report/info-graphic approach and listed out our family stats.  It's fun to see our year this way. I noticed I fell behind on blog posting this year.  Not really sure why... maybe it was all of those baseball games? In 2013 I posted just over 100 times and in 2012 I had an all-time high record of 287. In 2011 I posted 238 times. Whoa. That's a lot of posting - thanks for sticking with me over the years.  I am happy to have this online journal and it'll be nice for the kids to go through one day.

So on this last day of of 2013 (my last post for 2013) I wish you all a Happy New year and lots of love,  happiness, luck and health for 2014.

Welcome Baby

We are so excited to share some great news. My dear high school friend, Emily, just had her first child in February.  YEAH!!! and congratulations to the new parents.

Nicholas and I had the pleasure of visiting Emily, Ethan and their new little baby today.  I've been dying to meet this little one and to catch up in person with Emily. It had been WAY, way to long...  Can I tell you, what a sweet, sweet baby.... Like a dummy I forgot my camera, but I got one photo with my phone.

I had decided I wanted to share a special gift with the baby and so I've been working on a Birth Announcement poster.  Here is the finished product.  I think it turned out pretty cute.  Since Emily named the baby after the Kestrel falcon I knew immediately that I wanted to include some bird images in the poster.  These were fun to create and adds just a little bit more personalization to the poster. Emily had announced Kessie's birth/name with the quote "the cutest little bird arrived today", so I paraphrased that quote for the poster.  Emily had mentioned her nursery was themed with blues, greens, grass and bugs. It was a little bit of a risk but I think it will work well with her decor.

Welcome to the world baby Kestrel!  Here's to many more milestones ahead.

Mood!

I don't know how those project runway designers can grab what they need in under 30 minutes.

Happy Birthday Alex & Cam

We spent the morning at Alex and Camden's birthday parties. Beau and Nicki rented out the classic fun center for the party. The boys had a blast bouncing and playing with their cousins. Benjamin helped Logan learn to ride a scooter.

I designed some simple tags to hang on their presents. Along with a toy we gave each boy a packet of Oreos. The Oreos were a hit, better than a toy!

High Chair update

We were fortunate to have save Andrew's high chair and now are using it with Nicholas. You may have noticed the super ugly high chair cover from the previous post (you may not have noticed but I sure did!). The chair is over 11 years old and the cover was all ugly, crusty, and gross, really gross. After Nick's haircut I decided to make a new cover. I think it turned out pretty cute. I used Stampin' Up! Designer fabric.
