May Card Club projects

Check out this month's card club projects. We used product from the Occasions catalog, Annual catalog as well as a few items that are reining at the end of the month.

This a fun and a bit of an elaborate baby card. This card does take a some time to create.  We used the That's the Ticket stamp and Punch, the Spiral Flower Die and lots of gold.

These two samples focus on the Six-sided sampler bundle (stamp set & punch). The 15% discount for the bundle retires at the end of this month.

This small 3x3" card uses the set Zoo Babies. The elephant in this set is so cute. We used the small oval punch to make his ear pop. I've seen this technique done and love it.

We also used the Designer Frames Embossing folders. I love them. These are retiring at the end of the month also - so sad. Get them now.

This Congratulations card was CASED from a card Paula Critchlow cased from Jill Olsen. HA! How's that for giving credit?! All I did was changed up the color scheme so the card was more gender neutral.

This "Hello Sweet Friend" card shows how you can use the same template/design for a totally different look. This is the same template and size as the small 3x3" Zoo Elephant card. Instead I used the Six-sided sample bundle.

Welcome Baby

We are so excited to share some great news. My dear high school friend, Emily, just had her first child in February.  YEAH!!! and congratulations to the new parents.

Nicholas and I had the pleasure of visiting Emily, Ethan and their new little baby today.  I've been dying to meet this little one and to catch up in person with Emily. It had been WAY, way to long...  Can I tell you, what a sweet, sweet baby.... Like a dummy I forgot my camera, but I got one photo with my phone.

I had decided I wanted to share a special gift with the baby and so I've been working on a Birth Announcement poster.  Here is the finished product.  I think it turned out pretty cute.  Since Emily named the baby after the Kestrel falcon I knew immediately that I wanted to include some bird images in the poster.  These were fun to create and adds just a little bit more personalization to the poster. Emily had announced Kessie's birth/name with the quote "the cutest little bird arrived today", so I paraphrased that quote for the poster.  Emily had mentioned her nursery was themed with blues, greens, grass and bugs. It was a little bit of a risk but I think it will work well with her decor.

Welcome to the world baby Kestrel!  Here's to many more milestones ahead.

Baby shower Decor

A few weeks back we had a baby shower for a co worker.  My team and I created all of the decor/favors.  I really think it turned out cute but I never got around to blogging the photos (I really need to break out my big camera every once in a while - phone photos must suffice).  Here they are... for documentation sake.

We created favors, decorated the water bottles, made a banner and the cutest of all... party hats for the stuffed animal center pieces.  Supplies are all Stampin' Up! with the Morning Mocha designer series paper as the foundation inspiration.

Planting Bulbs

The boys and I planted over 100 bulbs this afternoon. We had a great system. Andrew and Benj dug the holes, & I filled them with bulbs. Fast work even with baby bulb hijacking and other course corrections. Fingers crossed for a colorful spring.

What we planted:
50 Narcissus yellow trumpets
6 Globemaster Alliums - these are the BIG ones, bigger than a softball!
4 Fritillaria - these are a orangey tropical looking flower.
12 Ice Cream Tulips
10 Merlot Tulips
40 purple & white alliums - golf ball size flowers
6 Alliums - medium sized
