Thanksgiving round up

We had an excellent Thanksgiving holiday. We were blessed to have Chris' mom, sister and kids (Nina & Billy Jack) share this day with us. They are out west on a 10 day vacation and are visiting most of the national parks in southern Utah.

This is the first Thanksgiving I have exclusively cooked, from the appetizers, to turkey and sides, to pies. The consumers approved and said I did a great job.

I brined the turkey and used this amazing recipe. It worked great, really easy to do.

I made most if the sides the day before and got them all ready to cook.  You may recall the sweet potato recipe (here) from a few years ago. I also made quick dinner rolls. So easy. While we did have a few vegetables, I made a "salad", more like a pretzel dessert. But the recipe called it a salad, we are going with it.

We ate, relaxed and enjoyed our great company. We are very grateful for family.

Happy belated Thanksgiving.

Card Club - October

Here are this months card club projects.  Club gals—these are not the best photos—sorry about that.  These will have to do to jog your memory.  So much great Halloween stuff that is was hard to choose what to make and I had to throw in a fall/Thanksgiving card (thanks Julie S. for the fabulous projects for me to CASE).  I am loving with the googlie eyes - so silly and perfect for halloween.  November and December we will hit Christmas cards and projects so give me a ring if you want to come.

Thanksgiving in St. George

This year we spent Thanksgiving in St. Goerge with my mom and dad.  Outdoors we had a great time four wheeling, "rock" hunting and hiking.  St. George is beautiful and the weather was 60-70 degrees most days.  Indoors we enjoyed playing with cousins, movies, yummy dinner and reviewing the black Friday ads.  A little on the crazy side Mom, Ky and I braved the black Friday sales or rather the black late Thursday night sales.  It was truly an experience but we got some good deals.

Thanks for hosting us mom & dad! We had a great time hanging out with you. Happy Thanksgiving!  I know it's a few days late but the post still made it up during November.  I am grateful.
